11 Impreza 2.5i ej25 problem

codes
When I first bought my preza. The old engine ran for while then blew up at 100,000 miles. I paid a guy 3000$ to put a 2014 ej25 in. Ever sense then iv had nothing but problems, from getting bad gas mileage, I get around 23.0 to the gallon in my city. I noticed that when you get on it the cars check engine light flashes for a minute at higher speeds. My cruse control does not work along with the traction control light always lit ever sense the 14 engine was put in. One of the engines cylinders is misfiring and I think the catalytic converter might be affected as well. I’ve had to put in new coil pack and spark plug wires. Any help so I can fix these problems would be nice. I took it to my local subaru dealer and they hooked up there diagnostics machine to reset the computer. But no matter what those lights just keep coming back on always.

Honestly, where do we start!!!!!!!! :D

23mpg is normal.

Why did the garage just clear the codes without investigating each one and finding out what is causing them? I hope they didn't charge you for doing nothing but reseting codes?

Go back to the garage, get them to check & list all the codes then investigate each one and fix each issue. Once the problems are fixed the codes can be cleared and won't come back.

Simple.

Thanks, it was free i wouldn't have paid to scan the computer
that's good to know :thumb: the Subaru employee i talked to
said to me, that it may be something as simple as
mass air flow senor or that i would completely have
to get a whole new wiring harness to make everything work
with the ecu and pcm. Sounds complected, because its got a
newer motor that wasn't made for that car. So it kind of makes
sense.

Sounds like the person who scanned it doesn't really know sh1t to be honest.

You can fit newer engines to these cars. It depends what they've fitted and what sensors it's using.

I would start off by seeking a more experienced Subaru specialist. The guy you had just clearing the codes with no idea what's causing them is not helping you.

Or go back to the guy who swapped it out for you, and get him to sort it if it has never run correctly.

Assuming you're talking US gallons in your mpg thats only 19mpg here in uk gallons.
