Ap disc direction

I have ap’s fitted, I always thought the disc were directional by the way the
the grooves were flowing on the discs.... whilst having the issues with my wheels
( different post) I noticed the vents on the inside of the discs) would be more optimal I think if the discs
where the on opposite side wondering if there the wrong way round :wonder:

just wondering what other people with ap’s have done

Your second picture if on the passenger side is correct.

Hi joe.... all pics above are of the same side all passenger side.... I was having a slight squeal under light
breaking so re greased the back of the pads... but then looking at the vents on inside of discs I thought maybe they should
be the other way around but I’ve always gone by the direction on the groove on the disc.

No for general use they are correct. Your squealing is probably glazed pads give them a couple of heavy stops that should cure it.

As Joe says vents are the correct way round they draw air from the centre of disc outwards

crazyspeedfreakz 24 February 2019 11:51 AM

Thanks guys that helps a lot I didn’t realise that they draw the air from the Center that would
explain a lot

cheers all

As all have said - airflow from centre of disc outwards

if you look at the top half of the disc on a Curved Vane rotor should be arcing towards the rear of the car...............

I was told my discs were the wrong way and it started off a debate.
