Ap disc direction
I have ap’s fitted, I always thought the disc were directional by the way the the grooves were flowing on the discs.... whilst having the issues with my wheels ( different post) I noticed the vents on the inside of the discs) would be more optimal I think if the discs where the on opposite side wondering if there the wrong way round :wonder: just wondering what other people with ap’s have done https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...0cf988256.jpeg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...7b58942e2.jpeg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...6f21adc68.jpeg |
Your second picture if on the passenger side is correct.
|
Hi joe.... all pics above are of the same side all passenger side.... I was having a slight squeal under light
breaking so re greased the back of the pads... but then looking at the vents on inside of discs I thought maybe they should be the other way around but I’ve always gone by the direction on the groove on the disc. |
No for general use they are correct. Your squealing is probably glazed pads give them a couple of heavy stops that should cure it.

As Joe says vents are the correct way round they draw air from the centre of disc outwards
|
Thanks guys that helps a lot I didn’t realise that they draw the air from the Center that would explain a lot cheers all |
As all have said - airflow from centre of disc outwards

if you look at the top half of the disc on a Curved Vane rotor should be arcing towards the rear of the car...............
|
I was told my discs were the wrong way and it started off a debate.
