Gigaclear G30 actual download speed ?
The village is now active for Gigaclear Ultrafast broadband via the new cable. The basic package, G30, downloads at UPTO 30mbps compared to the present 4mbps over the BT phone wires via BTinternet. Has anyone experience of the Gigaclear packages and how fast they actually are in relation to advertised possible speeds ? We are in a smallish modern bungalow so no thick stone walls or upper levels.
All we want to do is to link the smart TV to the internet to use it better and stream on the laptop/ipad. Thanks Brian. |
Not used it but you should be good for most things on that speed, I have 2 connections one 350m and other 8m the 8 is ok and does Netflix fine etc, id go for it 4m is painful I bet |
Connection speed would depend on so many things. You have to look and see if they offer a guaranteed minimum connection speed. Up to means absolutely nothing.

JB I’d be tempted to try BT again, by the looks your cab has or could have been fibre upgraded meaning Bt could offer you more, my brother who lives on a farm had 1mb he’s now had the same notification you kinda had so he’s moved to Vodafone and gets a steady 22 and he’s where cows and sheep are |
