Problems Getting Insured With Subaru

Hi to all,
I am just about to embark on my first Subaru journey, never had a high performance car before,
really having problems with someone to cover me, they say I haven't had any experience, or the
insurance quotes have been sky high, that I am not willing to pay.

I have tried Keith Richards, but I can't get hold of Gary Moleson at the moment, can someone
recommend another insurance company, I am 50, with no driving convictions or points on my licence.

Thankyou in advance :)

Regards

Marc

I just renewed mine, and Esure was the most competitive at £547 fully comp mods declared, privilege who I’m with currently ( until sat ) renewal was £1087 😮 and they wouldn’t budge.
38 full ncb poor BD postcode.

Please feel free to give us a try for insurance if you like. If you wanted to PM me some contact details I'd be happy to arrange for one of my quotes team to give you a call back.
Regards,
Dan.

It's going to be about £500 for a daily driver.

Done a lot of phoning around, nobody will cover me without experience, but Adrian Flux
have quoted £488.00 all mods declared, so going with that. :)

I’ve just bought a wrx. I was with Adrian flux with a Suzuki jimny.
‘I called them to swap to the new car. They quoted me over £1000 to insure the Impreza. Surprise, surprise, the company you’re currently with sir won’t insure an Impreza.
They make this s@%* up daily, I’m sure.
To say I’m disgusted is an understatement.

SPORTWAGONROY 04 March 2019 10:25 PM

Try Keith michaels Gary moulson always helpful.

+1 for Keith Michaels, used them for over 15yrs

Hi Daz,

Unfortunately we don't make this up. You're going from a low risk, low performance vehicle to a high group performance car that in all honestly has caused insurers many claims over the years. Naturally your current insurers won't cover the performance car so we'd have to have found you a specialist who does. Without experience of driving something similar it's likely the premium would increase.

I hope that this explains the situation and we hope that you secured competitive cover.

Thanks

Dan

it doesn’t really explain it Dan, as my main car is a 460bhp, £30k V8 M3. Which is just over £500 to insure.
‘Thanks for the reply though.

the jimny (and now the Impreza) is a second car. My main car is an E92 M3, approx 450bhp, worth £25k ish with over 20 years ncb. And that’s just over £600 to insure. And according to the advisor I spoke to at Adrian flux, the £1000+ quote was mirroring that ncb???

thanks fella. Although I have tried to contact Gary 4 times, leaving 2 messages and he still hasn’t got back to me.

SPORTWAGONROY 06 March 2019 09:52 PM

That's strange I know he gets very busy but that's not good I would keep trying tho he is your best bet I've always had good deals off him for my performance cars

RobsyUK 07 March 2019 05:51 AM

Gary is crazy busy and I’m sure his team don’t pass messages on so that they get the commission for signing you up - if you can’t be bothered to wait for him.

best bet isnsend him a message on Facebook with your mobile and a time to call and he will call you.

DAN@ADRIAN FLUX 09 March 2019 02:04 PM

Hi.
I'm sorry we couldn't offer you anything more competitive.
Unfortunately not every insurance company we deal with will insurer ever vehicle I'm afraid.
Every insurer have there own terms an conditions for what they will and won't cover.
Regards,
Dan.

Give classic line a try.
even though I’ve had years of performance cars and a Subaru 8yrs ago I found very few would touch me as I hadn’t driven a Subaru in the last year!

the 17yrs ncb, 2 children and no accidents didn’t make an inch of difference.

fortunately I wanted an agreed valuation and classic line offer this.
I now have several cars insured with them for a great price.

The Rolling Stones are doing insurance now?

I'm with Gary, he's been great. Honestly can't fault him, easiest renewal in the world this year! Have also been with Adrian Flux, A-Plan and Sky in the past with my Subarus. All good.
