We fit many taps at work with them. Only thing I would say is to get a branded tap so you can get the right replacement cartridges when needed.

Couple of issues with lever taps...people sometimes shut them off too quick which when combined with high mains pressure can cause pipes to bang and hammer. Annoying and sometimes can cause push-fit fittings to blow apart, somethingvto keep in mind if your house has naff plumbing like insecure pipes and DIY push-fit couplings.

Other issue is with mixer taps and combi boilers, people like to leave the lever in the middle regardless of needing warm water or not and when they only turn the tap on for ten seconds or so (to wash hands etc). This results in the boiler firing up but by the time the hot water gets to the tap they turn it off. So a waste of gas and extra wear/tear on the boiler.

Former can be mitigated by a pressure reducing valve and a small expansion vessel immediately after. The latter can be avoided by buying taps with “cold start” or “cool start” mixer taps where the default centre position is for cold water.

Also as mentioned, known brands are generally better quality...both the chrome and the cartridge. Although have had cheapies before and the only issue I had is they got stiff to turn with age...chrome pealed off though. I’ve been using Hans Grohe taps and showers of recent..check out ebay as sometimes you can get them from Germany cheaper than over here.
