I’ve had a new radiator installed and green anti freeze was used. Then the top pipe rubbed which I then replaced.
purchased a bottle of comma G48 with it’s green sticker (only green bottle in Halfords) and recommended on here on a cooking post.
while pouring in the wife was like : that’s blue.
i go to facebook and everyone says the same. It’s Blue!

I message the manufacture to a reply of its blue!
I’m like WTF why is blue in a green bottle.
the manufacture reply;

The colour of the label is just colour of the packaging and does not reflect the colour of the product that is in the bottle.

The Xstream G48 has a green label with a dark blue product

The Xstream G40 has a blue label with a violet product

The Xstream G30 has a red label with Violet product

see for yourself and you tell me what you think.
will mixing blue & green be bad?

as far as i know its not the colour you need to worry about as that is just a dye, it has something to do with whether its a silicate based or OAT based version as the 2 cannot be mixed.

dont quote me on that but im pretty sure thats how i understand it

Ok looks like G48 is a silica and I need an Oat. Fortunately I can do the change at home simple enough.

Now before I go wrong - and can someone delete the thread about with the person using G48!

The Comma help desk advise G30 that is violet in colour.

is the lower rad pipe easy enough to access?

just ordered the G30 from halfords. Will hopefully do it tomorrow

G30 is the one to use odd. Very very good quality product. It is a reddish pink colour

RobsyUK 06 January 2019 07:59 PM

Yeah comma sent me an email saying the 30 is the one.
Someone needs to delete the thread off here that says. 46 is the one to use.
swapped it out today.
