Rota GRA's Vs. PFF7's - 2003 Blob STI

Currently looking at Rota GRA's for my Blob STI in 18" x 7.5" as they're affordable, available new & are known to clear the STI Brembo's...

Also in the running were PFF7's, but going off them somewhat as although being "period correct" they're somewhat dated. HOWEVER If this article is correct: https://impreza.co/prodrive-pff7-spe...-alloy-wheels/ The PFF7's are 8" wide - Is there anything in this with regards to a wider contact patch for better grip with (what seems to be) no arch mods?

Wondering if 8" is a worthy upgrade over 7.5" & if there are other 18" x 8" wheels that'll clear the STI Brembo's without spacers...?

Cheers :)

No spacers needed for PFF7's. Ran a 225/40/18 tyre on mine. Did get minor rear scrubbing, but the car was very low... once raised it up a touch - no rubbing at all, and no arch mods.

Hello mate, thanks for the reply...

Do you feel there’s any real benefit to going 8J or is there not really a lot in it? (I am guessing ProDrive thought so :wonder:).

Cheers

theres not a lot in it to be honest going from a 7.5 to an 8. But it does allow you to run a slightly wider tyre if you want to - 235. Which is always good. And they look much better in the arches as they sit out that bit further. Down to personal taste really. You’d be equally fine with the 7.5 GRAs

Have you got a pic of yours by any chance?

Slick,

I do like the way they fill the arches out :luvlove:

Less spokes to clean than the GRA’s too :lol1:
