EJ257 single scroll to twin scroll conversion
Bought an ’06 STI Type UK in May (EJ257 with single scroll turbo obviously). Overheating issues from the start, blew the headgaskets. After taking the engine apart usual VF43 hot side crack was discovered. Since it is already too large and far gone turbo needs to be replaced anyway.
The plan is to put in a VF49 instead. I have the headers and up-pipe sourced. The question is: What else is necessary to convert single scroll EJ257 to twin scroll? I have heard something about the oil sump? The oil pump? If someone could clarify. Regards, Joonas https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...72c2b5d98f.jpg |
Im sure it was sump |
Isn't the EJ257 sump the same as the twin scroll sump? Exhaust manifold, up pipe, turbo bracket, downpipe etc.
