Buying blobeye sti
Hi everyone new too this forum just looking on some info on buying a blobeye sti. What model would people recommend blobeye only. Looked at a 2005 last week but wet rear diff and wet around sump and right hand side of engine. Any ideas on these leaks? Common issues? expensive? Has anyone any information on this car was in Leeds but now imported to Northern Ireland. RJ55DJD picture of car in my pictures on my profile All information appreciated thanks Hanks in advance |
Rocker cover gasket at the engine end the diff end was it at the front of the diff if so probably the input shaft seal. Both easy fixes.

Diff was wet all over mostly at back. Probably just a full seal kit would sort it then so along with new rocker seal kit. Anything too look out for on these cars, it’s a ppp wide track model |

sounds like pretty straight forward stuff. Depends on your budget really - if you can get one, go for a JDM blob - twin scroll, higher spec, hold value better

As above :thumb:

Also, I'd recommend inspecting the rear jacking points under the sill skirts. Mine looked fine (apart from being a bit distorted) until I took the skirts off to discover fist sized holes in each sill!

I've had both a 2003, and a 2005 mate. Both drove mostly the same to be fair. Although the widetrack 2005 had DCCD which was a nice touch, and the interior is definitely better on the later models. Worth thinking about... although you can retrofit the facelift interior parts into an earlier blob if you want to.
