I've recently bought a Karcher pressure washer. Thing is, you still need to use a brush to shift the sh1te. Has anyone tried the Karcher rotary brush - the one that spins by using the water pressure. Looks like a good idea but I know Subaru didn't spend much of their R&D budget on paint quality, and I'd rather not find out the hard way that this brush leaves a load of surface swirl marks or scratches.

And yes, I am a lazy barsteward and I could wash it by hand, but...

I'd only use the karcher to rinse/pre wash the car and with the nozzle a fair distance from the car.I definitely wouldn't use a brush as if you put it down it can pick stones up and you won't know about it until you have scratchmarks all over your car.Just use a sponge:(

Your right, any jet wash will not get rid of the road film. You have to sponge first or get the autoglym vallet pack.

However, i bought the rotary attachment for cleaning some rust off and old plough and bugger me.....it almost destroyed it. I too though it might do a quick job on the car so i tested it first on my brothers clio and have now stripped the paint clean off!!!

(I also managed to tack the paint off my P1 spoiler with the usual attachment so be warned!)

BKS - Are you talking about the rotary brush or the dirt blaster ?

Surely the brush wouldn't remove your paint ? :eek:

I also use a karcher pressure washer, but like the others only use
it to pre-rinse the car to get the loose crap off etc before doing a bucket and sponge job..and then again to rinse off. The pressure washer is great for getting 99% of the brake dust and crap off the wheels though...and also good for spraying on the car underside etc (I have an import with little or no underseal so like to keep the underside clean :) ).
I wouldn't recommend the brush thing either..mine came with one and I've never even tried it.. tried a brush once about 9 years ago on my first car.....never again! :(

I have just baught a Karcher pressure washer as well and it came with the rotary brush which I've not used because the bristles seem to be too hard and was scared it would scrach the paintwork. After reading this thread would'nt put it anywhere near my car.
