Immobiliser Help! 2006 WRX Hawkeye

Hi All,
just got a 2006 Hawkeye WRX . It's a beauty but the sodding alarm goes off every time i try and start the engine. First try, it won't start, second try, the alarm goes off!
Any ideas how to work the immobiliser? I get the flashing key come up to say it's enabled but not sure how to sort it out.
any tips much appreciated

My misses used to do the same with mine the alarm was always going off. She even managed to lock herself in it once .
The immobiliser on them re arms if you don't start the engine with in a certain time after unlocking the car(30seconds). If this happens turn the ignition on (2 clicks) press the button on the key and you will hear the immobiliser click off then start the engine. The alarm goes off if you press the button without the ignition fully on and the central locking activates.
So key in turn on ignition press button then start engine.
Hope this helps.

I think you don't actually have to fully start the engine to prevent the immobiliser rearming, just turn the key to the last position before the actual engine fire-up one. Useful if you're faffing around in the car before actually wanting to start the engine.

Have to admit this always gives me a good laugh when I have to go to a non Subaru garage. Do you know how to start the engine? Yeah, of course I blinking do! 2 minutes later of faffing around turning the key and god knows what, alarm goes off and the engine still hasn't started :lol1:
