What width / profile tyres for track racing?
Final point of call on the car is new rubber - at the moment ive got 4 mismatches on that wont do!
However I'm not 100% clued up on what is best r.e. tyres for track use. (will have to be semi slick at a max as dont have a trailer yet) Do i want to stretch the tyre out (i.e low profile) or do i want a thicker profile ? Do i want different profiles on front/back or all the same? The rims are 17" x ?? width (will have to measure), but im assuming its around the 225 mark for the tyre Any reccomendations? Currently looking at some Toyo Proxes but its a minefield out there |
bump - anyone?

Dont stretch tyres if your doing track work. Ideally you want tyres with a sturdy sidewall that can take the beating that tracks provide.

From info given by other 'enthusiastic drivers' I believe the STi specified Bridgestone RE070 would suit perfectly...
Got some on my spare wheels ;) https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...5f587ff0d6.jpg :thumb: £400 and you can take them all away  I would even drive the 500m to your house and drop them off for FREE :luxhello: |
