Honda civic type r gt 2009

for sale is my partners 2009 honda civic type r gt spec. we were looking at alot of civic's but nothing really stood out until i saw this one so i contacted the dealership and placed a refundable deposit over the phone, we made the trip down to london on the 13/04/2018, we secured a deal for £8995 including 2 years honda warranty.the mileage on the car when we got it was 40537 which as you can see is well below average. there is currently 15 months warranty remaining which can be transferred to the new owner for a £25 fee which we are happy to cover.

i drove the car back and it felt as tight as a drum, i had previously owned an ep3 type r back in 2013 so was looking forward to driving this. the car performed faultless on the way home and v-tec engaged as it should.

on the 11th of june this year the car broke down on the m69 motorway with my mrs and her mum inside it, the phone call i had described smoke coming from the wheel and a grinding sound so straight away i knew it was a seized caliper. the honda warranty assist picked her up and took the car to the nearest dealership which is in narborough. i was disappointed when i received the phone call from them saying the warranty would only cover the seals in the caliper and not the caliper itself or the damage to the brake disc/pad. now my mrs father is customer service's worst nightmare so after a few phone calls and a threat of taking the car back to london on a trailer as we had only had it 7 1/2 weeks and covered around 800 miles in it soon had the warranty company shelling out for the work. the car received a new o/s front caliper and new font discs/pads. ive spoke with a few forum members and with ian @ godspeed and these calipers are known for seizing up.
other than that the car has been 100% reliable, never used any oil or water and doesnt over-heat/knock/smoke/rattle etc.
people that know me know that i look after my cars and only use top quality products and its no different with this car. it gets a once fortnightly wash with auto-finesse snow foam, 2 bucket method wash with lambs wool wash mitts and a microfibre towel dry at the end followed by a spray over with a quick detailing wax by auto-finesse.

i will list the bad points 1st

- somebody in morrisons car park scuffed up against the rear bumper leaving a mark on the corner of it (nothing broken just paint exchange). we were quoted £250 to spray this along with 2 small marks on the rear bumper. we were going to have this done but as we are selling the car to fund our wedding we will not be having it done.
-a few wheel scuffs
-few stone-chips worst is pictured
-front number plate cracked (i did this whilst washing the car and if i get time i will have a new one put on)
-the etched kick-plates are going a funny colour
and thats all, everything works as it should and is present and correct.

the car is completely standard apart from a set of team heko genuine wind deflectors and some bosch aero wipers.

it is the gt model so has all the usual extras like rain sensing wipers, auto lights, dual zone climate, front fogs, power folding mirrors, chilled glove-box etc. the car starts 1st time and idles/drives fine. air conditioning works fine, clutch and gears engage fine and there is no unwanted noises from the steering/suspension etc, with it being such a low mileage car its really really tight to drive.it always gets attention where ever it is especially when the sun is out as it really does shine well.
the current mileage as of today is 42400.
the mot is valid until 14-10-2019 so just under 12 months mot. there was no advisories on the mot at all.
the valve clearances were done on 17-12-2014 @ 24,017 miles.this is stamped in the book.
it has a full stamped honda service history and a recent clear hpi check from when we bought it. it comes with 2 x working genuine keys and the logbook is full and present along with the owners manual/wallet/key code etc,we have nothing to hide so the car can be viewed at our address from cold if needed.test drives will be done by me or the mrs unless proof of insurance is given and money is there for me to hold.i will not tolerate boy-racers trying it on and wasting my time either so please only genuine people need bother.

reason for sale is to fund our wedding in iceland in 2020. we would accept a part ex for the car depending on the car offered.
the type of car she is looking for must be
-petrol
-between 1.3-1.6 litres engine size
-manual
-ideally a mazda 2/astra/corsa/fiesta/golf/swift etc etc. its purely down to what my partner wants so she has the final say. if a part ex is agreed we must have at least £6k cash in the deal.

we are asking £7300 for the car which may seem slightly steep but factor in the mega low mileage and 17 months warranty/near full mot then i think is a decent price, obviously we are open to offers aswell.
we are based in hinckley,leicestershire.
