A/C Belt

2008 Hatch STI

Anyone know a trick to getting a new belt for the A/C pump on? The belt does not seem to have any tensioning associated with it, unlike the alternator belt which you loosen up and down.

Never seen even one like this before.

video done by Gates themselves who are leaders in replacement belts, seems you need "fitting tools"

You need self tensioning belt and tool kit

Only found this out from a quick google search. Probably another ploy for dealers to get an hours labour out of customer for something that could have been done yourself or in 5 mins.

If you buy a genuine Subaru belt it comes with the kit to fit it... but from memory I think it costs about £90!!
