It has USB charging and reversible charging to double as a powerbank.
It ships with a 5500mAh battery for excellent runtimes.
It has 3500 lumens and a range of 258 metres.
It has a 200 lumen warm white sidelight for camping or reading etc.
Glow in the dark bezel.
Comes with holster, lanyard and cables.

I reviewed it this year and I rank it the best all-rounder on the market. I have 90 lights but if I could only have 1....

I'm not sure if I mentioned it in my video but from off you can long hold down the power button until the side light turns on then off and it makes the power button flash red like a location beacon until next use, great for finding it in a dark tent etc.

My Astrolux S43 Torch arrived from Bang Good, that was really quick.

I've not had any time test it out properly other than quickly popping an 18650 battery into it to see what it was like, with it being night time i went into the garden and switched it on, straight into turbo mode lol, it lit up the whole back garden. It's amazing the brightness for it's size, i like how you can take the brightest up or down to whatever suits you at the time. The engineering feels excellent, i think you'll have to watch the end can and how you screw it on as you could easily cross thread it and with it being aluminium you'll need to be extra careful. I forgot to add it's really impressive how pure the light is, it doesn't have a tinto and looks so pure and natural.

First impressions are great, it's amzing value for the money, thanks Matt for the recommendation. I'll be using your advice on making sure it is witched off properly whilst it's in your pocket or bag, i'll unscrew the end cap to be on the safe side rather than the 4 clicks.

Glad you like it, I've 3 now. I own the ROT66 219B which purists say is the king of High CRI colour rendering, but to my eyes the S43 is more accurate.

These modern torches are addictive but they certainly get hot, especially the NICHIA and compact lights. I sold my Olight H2R because my 2yo son set fire to the pillow right next to my head. I can't believe he had it let alone knew how to get it into Turbo.

My MS12 gets to 100c in no time. My dad's an Electrician but he still gets pocket burns from his Emisar D4.

It's around 3000 lumens, Fireflies have released a similar sized light with 6,900 lumens, I've ordered one to review.

OR which one did you test ?

What battery do you recommend ?

I bought the XPL HI CW as it's the brightest, the 5000k NW will probably have a nicer tint. I believe CW don't get quite as hot as warmer LED's. I'm thinking of getting a 4000k NW version soon just for that cosy indoor halogen bulb look.

The Nichia has the best tint, close to pure sunlight but its not as bright and will get very hot, it is cheaper than the XPL version though.

The SST20 are cheaper than XPL but not as powerful but will throw just as far due to being smaller LED's

I recommend Samsung 30T or 40T for this light from 18650.UK on ebay.

Some amazing kit on this thread

Really nice gift idea for someone, it won't burn holes in pockets either as it's a sensible 400-500 lumens. Perfect to keep in the car, caravan or camping bag as emergency lighting.
