very nice indeed

Don Clark 28 October 2018 02:55 PM

Very nice, but just to be pedantic it is a MY15, the MY14 was the older shape which Subaru UK didn't import.(Last UK cars of that spec where MY13 I believe)

Love it mate. Mine is probably the nicest Subaru I've owned to date. Great cars these. Looks lovely.

Ste333 29 October 2018 11:46 AM

that looks very nice indeed :) the interior is so much more modern than a Blob/Hawk. Im sure you'll enjoy it

Mick 03 November 2018 04:09 PM

Aha - found your new thread - I thought you must have one :D

Mick 08 December 2018 01:36 PM

I'd keep the front splitter, to be honest I think that's all they need, don't like the side skirt or rear lip extensions you can also get. The front splitter just helps with its profile

Agreed on flaps also, they ruin the look of the car and I hate wind deflectors with a passion lol

So all in all I love it they way you have it now!

I always run Miller's nano 10w50 in my 08 hatch but it uses no oil, if it used oil I'd switch to likes of Total quartz racing 10w50 which I ran for years in my old hawk sti that had a fairly thirsty oil appetite but Total oil isn't that expensive to be continually topping up with, Millers is!

BrownPantsRacing 16 April 2019 08:40 AM

Funnily enough I took all my mud flaps off this weekend too as I kept driving over them when reversing into my drive. Was becoming really annoying as they just hang too low. They never really offended me, just got fed up with them being in the way all the time.

Thanks,

I think we all agree...... Flapless :)

Fuchs Titan is what has served me well but I’ve heard good things about the millers nano.

I don’t suppose there is a lot in it, I’m probably not going to benefit much from fuchs to millers, although I have read that the millers has a superior cold start protection.
My car being a daily too :wonder:

Siv

You're not going to notice any difference between the 2 oils realistically. So long as you're not running used chip fat in the engine you'll be fine. As an expert once told me, the only bad oil is no oil.

I don’t think there is much between the top end oils, as long as it’s changed regularly then you should be ok.

I’ve noticed that place you got your super sexy exhaust from are putting together some performance packages :thumb:

That's interesting to know. The owner has a 2015+ STI too and he's developed a few bits for it already. He also does EcuTek Racerom remaps at very reasonable prices.

silver-sub 02 June 2019 01:44 PM

That will look and and sound the business.

Mick 02 June 2019 04:35 PM

Nice... I've got some scorpions too..

Cracking job, that's a bargain! Do you know for sure that the scorpion boxes mate up to the H&S centre pipe? They look like they should to be honest.

Thanks buddy,
They are both standard fitment :thumb:
H&S website.
Subaru Impreza 2015 Centre PIpe. Unsilenced to improve sound and performance. Direct swap with standard. 2 1/2" Pipework.
Scorpion website.
Use O.E bolts to fix the Scorpion rear silencer to the O.E system.

Just need a couple of gaskets?

Siv :thumb:

Excellent job then. Yes, you'll just need 2x standard 2.5" exhaust gaskets and you're sorted! Plus you'll need a new donut gasket for the centre pipe to downpipe joint.

BrownPantsRacing 03 June 2019 11:16 AM

Any 63mm (2.5 inch) gasket like below will be fine. Make sure you buy one that's metal ringed like below.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-5-63mm-...frcectupt=true

Only use genuine donut gaskets though.

BrownPantsRacing 08 July 2019 09:49 AM

What does the exhaust look like fitted? Any sound clips?

BrownPantsRacing 12 July 2019 06:39 PM

That looks lovely. Sits really well.

hedgecutter 12 July 2019 08:03 PM

Nice car. I like the understated touches. I feel exactly the same about the exhaust trims on my hatch, but just haven't got around to taking them off and spraying them.
I found the Cosworth filter let a large amount of dust into the maf area, having used k&n for years. Now I'm using an AEM dry filter, which seems good.

Quite a few people have raised concerns over the quality of the cosworth filters, proceed with caution sivo.

Car looks lovely though buddy and I knew it wouldnt be long until you had it revamped.

hedgecutter 09 September 2019 08:10 PM

Good job.

Kaosone 12 September 2019 09:36 PM

Looking good,

Was going full decat (assuming the H&S downpipe replaces the first cat) a part of keeping it safe, or are you sticking it to the polar bears?

:lol1:

Kaosone 05 November 2019 06:51 PM

Headgaskets lifting sounds like a win, beats fishing piston ringlands out of the sump :lol1:

On a serious note you sold your blobeye & bought a £20k(ish) motor with the intention of doing an engine rebuild on it :eek2:

Semi-closed deck as standard looks good, are you going for big F' off power as full closed deck seems like overkill for future proofing :luvlove:
