My 1997 Classic GF8 Wagon Project
Update 12/01 - Car is now for sale.
Hi there and a sorry for a potentially lengthy intro to what could be a short project! I'm Lewis, I've previously been more of a biker but I've got a bit bored of them recently (after a recent count I've owned 22 bikes & 15 cars at 27 years old... I do get bored!) but I always need a toy in my life and I was very recently having an inkling for buying back my Nissan Pulsar GTiR but seeing the sickening prices they are worth now soon put me off and bought me back to earth. I thought an EJ20 based Scooby was a good compromise that I've long hankered for which I can at least get bits for... and is just as potentially unreliable/rotten/Japanese! A seemingly nice wagon with the sort of mods I was after come up for sale fairly locally (also a previous member on here) and a deal was made. Anyway, the car (or what I know of it)... JDM EJ207 'S20C' Block from a V7 STi 65C 'Reddish Blue' colour which I love Garret GT28R Turbo RCM UEL Headers Decat Exhaust Custom Chrome Racing 5" backbox (a 'bit' antisocial :hjtwofing) FMIC Parallel Fuel Setup RCM Cone Filter Lightened Flywheel XYZ Coilovers Innovate AFR Gauge STi 4 Pots STi Alloy Arms RCM Headgaskets Blitz DV Oil Catch Can A/C Deleted Circa 180K on the shell and 124k on the motor. So anyway, got the Scoob back from TDR yesterday overall with a clean bill of health and I had a service inc engine oil/filter, diffs/gearbox oil, brake fluid and spark plugs where they confirmed they found a cracked plug which was the likely cause of the on boost hesitation... sorted!! they were impressed with what the old girl made and the quality of the map with solid AFR's throughout (Origin still unconfirmed by the way...). Would highly recommend TDR to anyone thinking of going there, great guys. Here are some pics from when I collected the car from TDR and I was pleasantly surprised with the dyno results! (P.S. If anyone wants me to blank number plates of cars out let me know, not sure on the usual etiquette here - the cars were stunning there) https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...0409b96bd9.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...0971aa4107.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...f1508de295.jpg Car is now for sale by the way Anyway, nice to be on board. There seems to be a decent community in the Midlands and lots of local resources/specialists. Let me know what you guys think! Cheers, Lew |
