*** FOR SALE 2006 WRX Hawkeye - needs work hence price ***

After ten great years and a broken cylinder it's time to sell.

I bought the car mid 2008 and have kept it standard. It needed a gearbox refurb going back a couple of years but other than the recent issue with the cylinder it has largely gave me no problems. Full service and MOT history up until the issue with the cylinder. 96k on the clock.

Going back a few months it started misfiring. I plugged it in and on the reader I was seeing a misfire in cylinder 4. I did some research and found that a misfiring subaru is not a totally rare thing and it was suggested I get all the basic things changed. So its got an oil change, new spark plug and new coilpack but that didn't shift it. I took it to a garage who tried a whole bunch of things including changing the secondary air pump (?) before then saying they were stumped. So I took it to a specialist who said its losing pressue on the fourth cylinder which is a typical symptom that the exhaust valves have gone. Ouch.

The repair is well above my ability level so hence my trying to sell it. In my mind this standard Hawkeye would be a great project for someone that knows what they are doing and doesn't mind taking the engine out, splitting the block and changing the valves. Looking at automotive websites for a similar condition, age and mileage I think my car is worth around 4k, when fixed. I'm listing it here for 1.5k but appreciate that whoever buys it there is a risk so the price is flexible.

I'm based in Leeds, the car does start and drive but obviously with the misfire there is a risk of further damage.

Any questions please DM me.
