WRX STi 330s am I off my nut?

Ok, I have decided to potentially look at getting a 2010 + STi 330s, fully aware that it might go bang, but my train of thought was to go for a later model (facelift) as fewer miles as budget will allow and then have it remapped properly as soon as possible to further limit the risk, whilst putting aside money for a potential rebuild.

This one has taken my fancy, am I crazy?

can you afford to rebuild it if it goes bang ? If so then go for it. Thats a good price.

Just stick £5k aside and you will fine 😀

Once I sell the foz it shouldnt be too much of an issue, I am hoping that a custom sensible map would potentially hep with the risk factor.

I see that you have a hatch, is yours forged?

Rusti 24 September 2018 11:27 AM

I also saw this one which is already forged, it looks like a bit of a bargain which has me suspicious??

I think if it was me, I'd buy the cheaper one and keep the money aside for a rebuild if reuired. At least you'll know 100% what work has been carried. And as a bonus its a 330s

love my 330 as its the little extras it comes with that I like the most like keyless entry and bits like that lol

id try and find a already forged one ,, the one in your link doesn't look to be forged and they can be found for that price ,,, mine will be for sale next year and just as a comparison ,, its already forged running 500+bhp ,, will have less miles,, full custom interior plus loads of other mods and will only be a couple of grand more than the one in the link

Good advice, thanks mate.

I hear you on getting a forged one, started looking at this but I think its now sold

I think all the cars you've mentioned on here are MY08 models. The face lift is the MY11. Front bumpers are different along with other stuff.

330s is worth it for seats alone. Though they are std fit in facelift

they are a great car once forged

I think if I were going into a 2.5 STi like yourself, I would get one with an engine already sorted, or take it straight to your usual specialist and have the engine done - which will be cheaper as you'll keep your original block

mine revs to 7.5k so not far behind your JDM and I have loads more torque lol

Rusti 25 September 2018 09:11 AM

I loved the power and torque characteristics of my hawk and fozzy, as its going to be a daily and i do motorways in the week the 2.5 would be easier to live with.

Is there anything other than the usual I should be looking at with a hatch when I go to see one?

Rusti 25 September 2018 07:25 PM

Another question I have is where can you get oem rain guards these days

Sarg400 26 September 2018 01:29 AM

I have a 2011 facelift 340r hatch in pearl white, which I’m thinking about selling before it goes into hibernation for the winter.

its forged and has thousands in receipts.

Pm if you want something special ;)
