Super stuck morette newbie to subaru
Hi all I'm new to impreza and have a blob eye I've just bought morette online which arrived wired to click into mine (wrx)
they have hid ballast the full beams work but no dipped beam at all there are no extra cables or clips in attached I'm so stuck and might have to pull them out for old lights thanks for any help possible |
You need a wiring loom but HIDs are not standard on Morettes. So need to know what ballasts you have to ensure the correct plugs.
They are plug directly into what's already there as came off another wrx but the seller is no help they added correct pin plugs to spade connection etc
The ballasts need their own relay, fused power line and earth. The connections to the car's low beam plugs are just to send the on/off signal.
The ballast was already connected I will grab a pic now for you

Added some pics above I didn't attach properly on reply but they are there now

What are the red and black wires from IN connected to?
Into one of the plugs
Which plugs?
Dipped beam one I think h7

You need a wire connection from the dipped beam plug on the car loom. This should then connect to a relay. On one side of the relay is a live to the battery with an inline fuse and an earth. On the other side of the relay is a live and earth to the ballasts. When you turn the dipped beam lights on, this triggers the relay to open and power goes to the ballast. There will be another lead from the ballasts that connects to the HID bulbs on the headlights.
Do you have this as I can't see a live to the battery or an earth in the photos. |
100% I've not done any relays to battery as there were no extra wires
Shall I take the light back out tomorrow in the light and take a full pic for you so you can see it all
I have HIDs on my Bugeye, Blobeye and also aftermarkets on my M3 and they have all been wired as described. The dipped beam from the loom won't provide enough current to power the ballasts. That's why they need their own power supply from the battery.
You just need a generic HID loom from ebay or similar. |
You located near Wales 😂 I'm no good at wiring can't find q garage that will do them for me
Put your old lights back in. Then take a photo of the loom/ballasts and their plugs. I expect we can find a loom online that will be plug and play - almost.

Will grab a pic tomorrow in the light for you
