Sti7 into bugeye wrx

Looking to put a 2nd hand engine in

yes but you won't be able to run the avcs so you won't get the benefits but it won't cause any issue. I put an sti8 lump in my old wrx without using the avcs and was fine.

you need to know why the original engine shat itself.was it being mapped at the time? If so who by?

keep to using people who know what they are doing with these cars

Thanks for that, it wasn’t being mapped it was just doing a power run as I had just bought the car I wanted to get the car checked to make sure it was safe turns out it was running 21psi boost with air/fuel around the 10 mark the guy doing it (srd In ansti) said the it was fine if not a little Rich, are the sti engines stronger than the wrx’s?

yes alot stronger, sti 7 and 8 engines have been known to run 450+bhp without issue, there was even one member on here running 500bhp in his.

get the engine in, fresh cambelt/rocker gaskets/front and rear oil seals and decent oil in it. Stick a decent fuel pump in it and then get it mapped by a well know mapper.

speak with mattyB in the breakers section about an engine mate, well trusted breaker on here buddy that's who I got my engine off.
