Oil pressure/temp fitting kit
hi does anyone know where to fit this , does it just screw in for a 03 jdm sti |
What kit do you have is it the braided hose and brass nut one |
Hi yes it's from scoobyworx |
Braided hose if you look under your alternator take that oil pressure switch out screw braided hose in there oil temp brass fitting as you look left hand side straight down between tmic and intake hose you should see a allan key hole that bolt/nut gets replaced |
Ok so I got to use both , do they both have that little sensor on them that you just pull out , and do I loose the warning light |
See the oil pressure sensor you take out it screws into one of the ports on braided hose and fit your aftermarket sensor to the other spare port oil temp plug you take it has no sensor so screw your aftermarket gauge sensor into brass fitting then screw brass fitting into the hole in block |
Use ptfe tape on sendor threads incase you get a leak |
Lovely thanks for your help mate iv just seen some pictures and it makes sense now thanks |
No problem my explanation was a bit vague if you dont know what your looking for lol |
Na your explanation was good , I had a rough idea just wanted to check , did you have any problems with the threads stripping |
No only problem is the oil temp bung one can be a pit of a pig as its was stuck solid |
Ok thanks for your help , I should have a few more gauges by the end of the day |
You need a decent long 8mm allen key to get the temperature bung out.

Hi mate I dint have time in the end had to many other jobs going try get them done today , il post up some pics |
Right iv got them all wired up and fitted but when it comes to connecting the pro sport oil pressure sensor into the fitting kit it threads iv brought 2 of these and threaded them both |
Never had that issue did you buy full kits both times |
Yep both times I brought full kits , but just seen on eBay you can buy just the block bit , does it matter which one you screw the oe sensor in |
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F122637105988 no just screw into either sit sensor on try turning anticlockwise then clockwise incase its crossthreading |
Thanks mate yer that's one I just brought , i was really careful the second time and it still threaded I'm thinking maybe it's the sensor il put up a pic of it , did you use Ptfe tape on the sensor |
Yes just on sensors |
|
Take it your threads on the sensor are fine if so try as i posted above just incase its not catching first thread correctly |
Yer they seem fine , on both of them it seemed like it wouldn't start well looked a little crooked, I thought the second one was ok until I took it out and it had a little leak so tried to tighten it and it stripped |
Hopefully new one works for you |
The threads are tapered, they appear to bind up very quickly. Don't overtighten.
|
The top female thread on the adapter is 1/8"bspt, the female side thread is 1/8"npt
|
Any joy yet |
I must of been putting it in wrong hole lol iv been really busy last couple weeks I’m going try again at weekend , what sort of numbers am I looking at for oil temp and pressure |
