Oil pressure/temp fitting kit

hi does anyone know where to fit this , does it just screw in for a 03 jdm sti

peter zippy reid 10 August 2018 08:07 PM

What kit do you have is it the braided hose and brass nut one

seanvx 11 August 2018 07:15 AM

Hi yes it's from scoobyworx

peter zippy reid 11 August 2018 07:28 AM

Braided hose if you look under your alternator take that oil pressure switch out screw braided hose in there
oil temp brass fitting as you look left hand side straight down between tmic and intake hose you should see a allan key hole that bolt/nut gets replaced

seanvx 11 August 2018 07:39 AM

Ok so I got to use both , do they both have that little sensor on them that you just pull out , and do I loose the warning light

peter zippy reid 11 August 2018 07:53 AM

See the oil pressure sensor you take out it screws into one of the ports on braided hose and fit your aftermarket sensor to the other spare port
oil temp plug you take it has no sensor
so screw your aftermarket gauge sensor into brass fitting then screw brass fitting into the hole in block

peter zippy reid 11 August 2018 07:54 AM

Use ptfe tape on sendor threads incase you get a leak

seanvx 11 August 2018 07:55 AM

Lovely thanks for your help mate iv just seen some pictures and it makes sense now thanks

peter zippy reid 11 August 2018 08:11 AM

No problem my explanation was a bit vague if you dont know what your looking for lol

seanvx 11 August 2018 08:22 AM

Na your explanation was good , I had a rough idea just wanted to check , did you have any problems with the threads stripping

peter zippy reid 11 August 2018 08:33 AM

No only problem is the oil temp bung one can be a pit of a pig as its was stuck solid

seanvx 11 August 2018 08:37 AM

Ok thanks for your help , I should have a few more gauges by the end of the day

alcazar 11 August 2018 10:27 AM

You need a decent long 8mm allen key to get the temperature bung out.

how did you get on fitting the gauges

seanvx 12 August 2018 06:47 AM

Hi mate I dint have time in the end had to many other jobs going try get them done today , il post up some pics

seanvx 19 August 2018 08:52 PM

Right iv got them all wired up and fitted but when it comes to connecting the pro sport oil pressure sensor into the fitting kit it threads iv brought 2 of these and threaded them both

peter zippy reid 19 August 2018 09:10 PM

Never had that issue did you buy full kits both times

seanvx 19 August 2018 09:13 PM

Yep both times I brought full kits , but just seen on eBay you can buy just the block bit , does it matter which one you screw the oe sensor in

peter zippy reid 19 August 2018 09:15 PM

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F122637105988
no just screw into either sit sensor on try turning anticlockwise then clockwise incase its crossthreading

seanvx 19 August 2018 09:18 PM

Thanks mate yer that's one I just brought , i was really careful the second time and it still threaded I'm thinking maybe it's the sensor il put up a pic of it , did you use Ptfe tape on the sensor

peter zippy reid 19 August 2018 09:20 PM

Yes just on sensors

Take it your threads on the sensor are fine if so try as i posted above just incase its not catching first thread correctly

seanvx 19 August 2018 09:38 PM

Yer they seem fine , on both of them it seemed like it wouldn't start well looked a little crooked, I thought the second one was ok until I took it out and it had a little leak so tried to tighten it and it stripped

peter zippy reid 19 August 2018 09:51 PM

Hopefully new one works for you

alcazar 20 August 2018 11:28 AM

The threads are tapered, they appear to bind up very quickly. Don't overtighten.

2pot 20 August 2018 01:57 PM

The top female thread on the adapter is 1/8"bspt, the female side thread is 1/8"npt

peter zippy reid 25 August 2018 04:55 PM

Any joy yet

seanvx 30 August 2018 07:28 AM
