Hazard relay switch

Can these still be bought new ? I've now got the manual on a cd to try and track down the problem of not having any hazards. The plot thickens :(

Hi Don I'm looking at the diagram now in the picture it mentions to power supply routing fb8 fb9 fb19 what are they referring to? Fuse box .because underneath it says fuse 22 then 22 again then fuse 1https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...137a2b7a5e.jpg
And what's the combination meter?

Rick2017 06 August 2018 07:08 PM

The combination meter is the Speedo clocks :lol1:

Don Clark 06 August 2018 08:59 PM

FB8, FB9 and FB19 are fuse board circuits each serviced by the corresponding fuse listed under it.

Look at the "power supply routing" diagrams to see what's what.

I misread your first post and supplied relay info. :cuckoo:

Hazard switch for UK (EK code) part number 83045FA020 is no longer available even from Japan.
The Australian market one 83045FA000 is available though, as it's also used elsewhere. I think the difference is one is illuminated the other not.

Looking at your picture, there is no LHD or RHD option so I'm assuming the info is for a different year vehicle
Below is the diagram from the MY97 UK paper manuals which shows a variance in the circuit and fuse numbering

Having cross checked with the copies of manuals I have, your diagram comes from the earlier manual for MY94 cars

Hi Don the manual I have covers all years but trying to work the diagram isn't easy it's so old .I pushed the hazard most of the way in and it lights up but if I press it all the way so it clicks it stops :lol1: I've got a few spare switches now I'm just playing with the contacts

If I try turning the hazards on with the ignition off nothing happens  only partly works with ignition on

Rick2017 07 August 2018 07:49 AM

I'm assuming where my finger is in the picture it's the indicator stalk ?https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...bb329662cd.jpg

Fuse no 22 is direct from the battery and is in the main fuse box under the bonnet.
Fuse no1 is from an ignition feed

Yes

Right the master tech at work reckons there should be an earth some where from the hazard switch. Because when you press the hazard switch in part way and it lights up he said it looks like the lights are dimming abit .like it's a bad earth or something. He thinks my cobra alarm maybe suspect for wiring.

Update lol.ive fitted a new hazard relay from subaru and I still get the same problem. So I ordered a new hazard switch which was imported from Australia through subaru and still nothing. However the switch lights up now when I turn my side lights on. So I tried unplugging the multi plug for the indicators under the ignition barrel to see if that does anything if I press the hazard switch and guess what! Nothing  I took a break from the car because it was and is doing my head in.funny thing is that if I Google this problem it's very common across most subaru models and years
