Agree with you Munkii. As soon as Mata's goal went in I thought we were going to be in for an absolute drubbing, but much to my relief, Derby held their nerve and created some good chances in the first half and played some good football. albeit with a moment of madness from Richard Keogh. I thought Derby were the stronger team for most of the second half, creating plenty of chances. The free-kick from Harry Wilson was a wonder goal and I had to look at the replay several times to convince myself the ball hadn't taken a deflection because of the speed at which it changed direction in the air. Jack Marriott's goal was more luck than judgement but being a striker often means being in the right place at the right time, and he certainly was for that header. Derby really should have capitalized on the advantage of an extra man but Lee Grant (ex-Derby) made a few good stops and when the match hit the eighty minute mark I could sense Utd were getting back into it, so much so that as soon as 6 minutes added time was indicated I had a gut feeling Utd were going to equalize, and lo and behold they did. That said, all of Derby's penalties were executed brilliantly and I think we deserved to go through to the next round.

Surely that has to be it now ??

When you pick a young McTominey, a midfielder to play as a centre half in a three whilst leaving Bailly on the bench and three Holding midfielders on the pitch at the same time (four if you include McTominey) you know the plot has been well and truly lost, it doesn't surprise me they look like a team who aren't playing for the manager because they don't understand WTF he's doing with that selection and that formation.

sparrowdclxvi 01 October 2018 12:32 PM

The Glazer's have never sacked a manager mid season.

They're probably not even aware Fergie has retired, to busy siphoning cash out of the place.

I really don't understand WTF is going on with United, we are looking like a bunch of eejits at the minute
Signing Pogba for such a ridiculous amount of money was a bad move.

The public shaming by the manager has to stop, you'll never get anywhere with that.

Funkii Munkii 03 October 2018 12:26 PM

I saw that Becks, Giggs, Butt, GNev and Scholes were all at the game, I bet they all met up afterwards in their hotel for a munch and a few bevvies.

Would loved to have been a fly on the wall.

Scholes was spot on BTW :thumb:

Jose shouldn't publicly criticise the players, and that has to stop.
Social media is a big distraction, and the players need to give to give themselves a shake, especially Pogba.
I say it again, he should never have been bought back, his agent is a tool.

He's been allowed to get away with it for 2 years.

Just goes to show what Woodward is really like, hanging out the ar$e of the Glazers

W@nk, utter W@nk again

Jose reckons he'll be top 4 by Christmas, how long must we put up with his delusions and some of the slackers working under him.

Martial dived the cheating c*** :nono: and then it was offside. The officials siding with Utd once again.

urban 06 December 2018 08:49 AM

Certainly looked like a dive. Sloppy by United, especially De Gea with the first goal

Funkii Munkii 07 December 2018 11:07 AM

"Martial dived the cheating c*** :nono:and then it was offside. The officials siding with Utd once again."

I couldn't believe this was the same team that beat Spurs 4-2, pretty poor against the worst united side since 78 mate :D

Declan Rice

Time to make a bid me thinks, the kid is a Rolls Royce

urban 18 December 2018 09:52 AM

Mourinho's been sacked

averyp2 18 December 2018 01:46 PM

Had to happen, major changes needed both in personnel and mentality.

Back to basics, hard work and fighting for the shirt.

Who does everyone want in?

For me, Pochettino would be ideal

urban 18 December 2018 02:30 PM

Laurent Blanc seems to be favourite, talk of him getting the best out of Pogba/Martial.

As soon as Mourinho began attacking players in public, that was it for me.
He'll not give a sh!t anyway, he'll wander off with his 18 million compensation

scotty75 18 December 2018 05:34 PM

I think you need to find players that want to play for the shirt and not for the money aswell .

urban 19 December 2018 07:40 AM

Social media fcuks up again.

Looks like Ole Gunnar Solskjaer taking over as interim manager, with Mike Phelan as his coach. Having Mike Phelan back will be a good thing I think

urban 21 December 2018 11:28 AM

Ole's press conference - what a difference.

I'm actually looking forward to the next lot of games to see what changes he can bring in.

Willowsdad 21 December 2018 01:36 PM

A nice 5-3 win at Cardiff, with some free flowing, attacking football would be a good start. Ole and mike phelan both have experience with Pogba, so hopefully they can get him going and at least get him to look like he’s enjoying himself.

urban 22 December 2018 07:24 PM

That's better. Same again please next match

Aaron1978 06 January 2019 03:29 PM

What's going on in here then

Funkii Munkii 08 January 2019 12:57 PM

Well it's been a while :D

As has been noted on this board I never wanted Jose, I saw what was coming and he didn't let me down. The man was a disease to good football.

Couldn't have been happier when they sacked him, my mood surrounding my club had been low since the Lfc game at Anfield last season when he parked the bus against what at the time was an under performing Lfc side, there wa no reason to change tact but he did and it never got any better, after walking out of Wembley last May I was done as the football we served up was awful. The man never knew his best team his man management skills were shocking. So when he got the sack the happiness overwhelmed me like never before, probably because in my lifetime I'd never hated a United manager and I go back to Tommy Doc.

Watched a 4 min 50 clip of OGS being interviewed for MUTV on Twitter after he was appointed and in that interview OGS showed more passion and enthusiasm for my club that Maureen did in nearly 3 years, I was so excited for the next match. Carrick seems to have come alive since Maureen left as well, the whole club has tbh.

Thanks Ole for restoring my love of football and MUFC, We are not without our problems and I certainly don't expect to win anything anytime soon but the fact we're playing an attacking brand of football and the smiles have returned to the players fans staff etc is all I ever wanted.

If he keeps this up he should be given a go at the job. I don't want Zidane as I believe he is another pragmatic manager who got lucky with a great but aging squad, as I've said before I'd love Mo Po but he has a job o do at Spurs and cant see him leaving tbh.

I will be interesting to see how we go against Spurs, PSG and the Gooners in the next few weeks, they will be the real gauges of how well OGS is doing

But for now I am one happy bunny that **** has gone and OGS is here :D :D :D

urban 15 January 2019 09:22 AM

Its been quite some time since I've actually sat down to watch United play, but I must admit, I've been looking forward to watching them play again now with this new strategy.
The game against Spurs on Sunday was great, I think we completely controlled the first half, then Spurs changed a few things and started to give us a hard time in the second half, we still had our own chances, and we should have scored again

Its great to watch what is starting to look like the United of previous years with attacking football, instead of that defensive, negative shyte that the previous man put us though.

Looking forward to the next game, and seeing us progress upwards.

Funkii Munkii 25 January 2019 01:18 PM

Tonight's match has all the anticipation of an old school Ars vs Man U game about it

Actually looking forward to it rather than dreading it :D
