Decent system
I have had my 2003 wrx for 15 years and lived with the horrendous stereo. Want to upgrade finally to something respectable and loud. I know this is vague. I live in Hull if anyone can recommend a good company. |
Do you have a budget? Would you be prepared to install it yourself?

The main thing is sound deadening the front doors with quality sound material. Im just going through this process myself. I managed to get a bargain silent coat bulk pack and have just started on the doors. Next would be a decent set of components or co-axials with adapter rings or home made mdf baffles. I will post up some pics |

I've just done my rear doors and fitted some Hertz speakers. Next up is the front doors and I have some Alpines to go in there. when sound deadening the doors is obvious that the big cut outs in them, used to access window mechanisms etc lose a lot of bass, I basically sealed up the doors as best I could by covering the whole of the door in dynamat and it turns the doors into a box. seems to have had a bit of an effect so I'll do the fronts and see what happens. I already fitted tweeters in the front doors and that makes a lot of difference to the clarity.
Next job is tracing rattles as I also have two subs in the boot. |
What size speakers are you fitting in the front?
And how are you controlling it all - passive/active crossovers, time alignment etc? Personally I wouldn't have bothered with the rears if you have subs as they just bugger up the sound stage. |
