Whats needed please?
Im hopefully getting a 2006 JDM impreza sti at the weekend and will be looking at taking the power to around 450bhp.
Whats needed to get this please? Which will be the best quick spooling twin scroll turbo? After market ecu? Front mount intercooler needed? Breather kit needed? thanks |
an engine rebuild would be a good start.

I've just put a MD321V twin scroll on the car and I am impressed, but its on a 2.5 so its not apple for apples so I wouldn't like to say this is the right choice for you.
The standard ECU will handle what you want, but obviously Syvecs is the preferred option if funds allow. Yes front mount at that power although some have claimed to have had over 450 on the TMIC. Depends what you are doing with the car, if track days FMIC, if not maybe you can get away with TMIC and accept whatever the power is you achieve safely... 400 is generally the rule of thumb on a standard STI tmic. 4 bar map sensor maybe, CAI kit, Walbro/RCM Fuel pump, de-capped or larger injectors, 3" exhaust un restricted, and you might want to consider Meth mix to bring temps down and increase power :D |

Ran three UK engine cars over 400 with no issues, apparently the JDM's are stronger and rev to 8k :D |
Engine has only done 31k miles.
What cc injectors? |

What cc injectors? I think some (myself included) have ran the standard pinks with a fuel pressure regulator, but I think 450 is a big ask. I would imagine 740's would be ideal, but best to wait for an expert to come on that knows more.:thumb: ps - as I said before I'm sure you can get the pinks adapted to flow more which would be a fraction of the cost of a new set |

They can withstand that sort of power if they are healthy, but I agree it can be a gamble and most likely on borrowed time.... how much time anyones guess...

Read here, https://www.scoobynet.com/scoobynet-...gine-spec.html last proper forged sti engine was was the bug sti. |

All valid, but my experience has been good. 432 from a standard Blob UK lump with no issues, granted it didn't have much time in my hands before I sold it, but the car is still going strong.

They’re a Jdm
Leaderboard thread on here loads of Jdms of all years making 450-510 bhp no issues I made 431 and then 455 Car ran terribly and still didn’t manage to kill it Tough as nuts these Jdm cars are |

I wouldnt be throwing any cash at a 2.5 unless it is forged, it is such a gamble,
Id rather have a standard bhp 2.5 with forged engine, that a 400 bhp one on standard pistons. |

Yes 400 is much easier to achieve and safer than 450, and I am sure the owner will weigh up the risk and reward. But then 450 isn't all that difficult to get with the associated risks of running such power on a standard engine, however many have done this successfully to much higher levels - but as said before: for how long is "a piece of string question". I'm done with commenting. Robert. :thumb: |

As you have been told before you will find the majority go forged in the chase for even more, "NOT" because of failure But because 600bhp is a whole other kettle again. How many stockers could i blow up at 450 before I'm anywhere close to the cost of a mighty Clinic build, and how long would this take.... Although if you had to pay clinic to fit em every time then obv that kettle is different too :) |

Handy if your doing just a rod job rebuild i suppose :) some proper info on the 207 can be found here, https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/sho....php?t=2385141 |

My point is the same  |
Always the debate on here with 2.0 v 2.5
The proof is in the pudding |
Ok so looking into the the turbo, a quick spooling one, id suffer a bit of bhp to gain spool?
