Jdm Hawkeye impreza key fob replacement and coding.

Hi everyone.

I've had a good phone round today of subaru main dealers and company's who replace car keys and fobs but had no joy at all.

Subaru main dealer local to me are pretty sure they can code a new fob for me but can't actually supply the fob, I've had a look on eBay and can only find the shells for sale an that is no good as I need the little circuit board inside too,

all the other company's I phoned say they can only do UK Subarus because they don't have the frequency for jdm imprezas,

so after a full day of phoning around I'm still at square one, does anyone know how to resolve this issue please as I'm all out of ideas at the moment,

thanks in advance, Liam.

not sure of brand, it's a factory fitted system and the key has two buttons

Don Clark 18 July 2018 09:15 PM

Because of the UK's Sigma alarm adoption UK cars of this vintage have a bespoke one button key with the Sigma radio key (fob) circuitry added to the keys pcb.

JDM car will come with a two button (open/close) key P/n # 57497SA010

Looking at the JDM parts database, depending upon the actual spec it could also be fitted with an OEM immobiliser ECU, which would suggest the key comes with a transponder chip inside it, to be coded to the vehicle.(if ignition switch surround has illumination then no immobiliser)

it's a jdm spec c, the ignition does have an illumination surround so no immobilized.

Looking a bit closer, they also list 57430SA010 - one with transponder one without ??

Both are listed, with prices, on link below against short code 57497A

Hi. Just wondering if you ever got your key sorted? I’ve recently bought a JDM with one key and would love a spare.

Please let let me know how you faired out.

Thanks

I’m not sure if mine has an immobiliser / alarm. It’s a 2006 S204. I visited a Subaru garage today in north London and they told me they can’t source a new key.

Jonathan.

Get a titanium one cut

Martin typeR 23 January 2019 12:32 PM

I'm a bit confused on this as i recently imported a hawkeye spec c and got a titanium key cut then find out that it wont start as i have a oem immobiliser and transponder key which i thought jdm/spec c didnt have.

Is there any way around this apart from a after market ecu? could it be coded out?

If anyone still needs these I can provide a VAG style flip key replacement fully immo/remote programmed for the JDM cars.

Shoot me a PM.

Actually that's not not the case, the JDM newage cars all have factory immobiliser the same as the UK ones. The remote functionality itself works on a different frequency to the EU cars hence the UK dealers struggle to get them (they CAN be ordered from Japan but many dealers cant be bothered with the hassle), or program them (but the ones that do will charge over £300 for a replacement). My FSTI has the illumination around the actual ignition too.

I've done a few now.

Do you mind if I share this on the book of faces for you ?

Not strictly true
Up until revision D (02/2000 - 05/2004) Imprezas were offered with or without keyless entry depending upon model and option pack (note STI key available)
http://jp-carparts.com/images/subaru...mage_580_1.gif

From revision E (03/2004 onwards) they also got an immobiliser ref 88205 below part number =left 88205SA010 Immobiliser ecu
http://www.jp-carparts.com/images/su...mage_580_2.gif

Similarly JDM Foresters upto revision B were only offered with keyless entry
https://ministrant-sponge.000webhost...ry%20early.JPG

From Revison C (11/2003 onwards) it also came with an immobiliser which is why all Forester STi's have one

Interesting, I stand corrected.

Im assuming we’re talking WRX/STI imports here (does anyone import lesser spec cars?) in which case, bar potentially the odd Bugeye WRX/STI or Forester SF5 they’ll all have the factory immobiliser/keyless system.

Which I can provide replacement keys for if anyone needs 👍

You left out the first two iterations (revision C(09/2002 to 07/2003) & D (06/2003 to 05/2004)) of the Blobeye so quite a few about without an immobiliser.

Wow, thanks so much @Muzza80 for sorting out the replacement keys! They work a treat and great value. After the Subaru garage told me they couldn't source a new one, I thought I was snookered!

Thanks again.

my old 05 JDM type 20 with after market system, IIRC autowatch. if somebody put batteries in the "Key" it would work the OEM security but only locked and unlocked the drivers door!!!

Anyone got a manual for 2004 autowatch sysem? one with the small peanut shaped fob with one button?

Tony

has cloned my old autowatch Fob (although can clone he can’t reprogram a key ) and the old damaged pear shaped fob made redundant.

he also cut my key for 2011 keyless fob. The key ring eyelet alway breaks.

@Muzza80 your PM inbox is full. I need a second key for my 2004 Forester STi. It has a transponder key I'm told (which is why I am currently not able to get a remote start installed). Just wondering what the process is for getting new keys. I live in Canada FYI.
Thanks!
Ben
