Do you have a link to the car you are buying?
Its not advertised, why you ask? |
Someone may know it and why it was not changed.

Make sure you check the subframe! make sure it was treated corr Carly to protect from salt |
So, check it's been undersealed as they don't use salt on the roads in Japan, so a couple of winters in the UK can really bring on the rust on an untreated car.
Check to see if it's been mapped for uk fuel, although they can be run on 99 RON. Look for an auction inspection sheet and as about history. Lots of JDM cars don't have a lot of service history paperwork. |
CarVX is the JDM version of HPI but better. Use the VIN Code and you will get the auction sheet and any issues found in Japan including recalls.

You wolll be amazed how quick rust set in. especially in Scotland as they use more salt then down here in the warmer south 😜 |

Go on ebay search subaru kph to mph converter about 55£ , normally you can get to the wires under the intercooler , i took the intercooler off as it does not take long , i then soldered it in a fairly quick easy job |
plus yes underseal it all over |

You don't necessarily need a converter.
Personally, I prefer not mixing km with miles, so I would fit a cluster fascia/dial that shows both km and miles and leave the odometrer counting in km. |
I was under the impression that all cars imported to the UK that wanted to use our roads HAD to be converted to MPH as part of the SVA testing.
Strange that it's not yet converted. |

Strange that it's not yet converted. Second the suggestion for CarVX they’re great; fast service and can translate any auction sheets and history for you too. |
Is it correct that jdm have smaller tanks? Would a uk on fit |
AFAIK they are exactly the same JDM and UK tanks. Never heard of them being different.
|
My JDM legacy has been through 2 MOTs with the Speedo in KMH. Not so much as a advisory.
