I had to keep the original casing mate, when I went to get the esl put on I needed a new ecu board because the prodrive chip was glued in |
Prodrive chip? Why not just buy a used ecu. Same here I'm afraid would want original casing for that money. Thanks

Yes a Prodrive chip! when you have a car with a Prodrive pack the ecu has a prodrive chip to raise the standard horse power to around 250bhp.As mentioned above I had to keep the case and that's why I'm open to offers |
Never knew they had a Prodrive chip, thought it was just a remap.
|
You cant re map that ECU, with out an ESL, you told me that!!
|
I know that. I meant it has a prodrive map. Not a chip.

Hi Jaygsi,
Found this on an old scoobynet thread so its not a re-map it is a chip. "I know the early ECU's had a chip mounted in a removeable socket. If it wasn't a Prodrive then the Chip wasn't fitted." "Be aware that I am referring to a Pre'97 ECU" "I'm not sure of the changes other than the Connectors and Pin-Out. However, if you have a Blank IC socket i.e a missing chip then it is probably similar to the early versions"No Chip = No Prodrive. |
Interesting, i will pop open my standard ecu and have a look.
