visual turbo inspection

Could you tell me if this turbo is worth buying based on photos? According to seller there is no play on shaft, no cracks, etc. What do you think about comprssor wheel? blades seem to not have sharp edges, they are kind of round. Is this an indicator of very high mileage?

does this compressor wheel look ok?

from the photo it looks as though the fins have suffered some damage from poor filtration and have been worked on to smooth the edge. That's only my opinion.
I would have thought effect on performance would be minimal.

So how these blades look doesn't eliminate this turbo? For sure it's not a sign of too much play? Is this kind of usage/damage dangerous for an engine by any mean?

the turbo blades wouldn't put the engine at risk, from the photo it looks as though they've been worked to give a safe edge. I can't see they would impact too much on performance.
Personally I would want it overhauled by a reputable company because of the surrounding costs of fitting/ mapping etc.

Ask the seller if he ever had it fitted to car, these turbos are 20+ years old and the bearings although don't have shaft play, tend to whine and make a lot of noise.
