They look good. What was the turn around time?

K3ogh_sti 20 June 2018 07:07 PM

Pretty sure it was around 10 days, they are always mega busy

 nice choice on the green will look nice over black/white wheels :thumb:

How much all 8n if you don’t mind me asking?

Godspeed Brakes 21 June 2018 08:54 AM

Our standard price to recondition them to this finish is £125 per caliper , so £500 for all 4 inc vat , these ones were probably the worst condition calipers we have ever had in , and needed a lot of machining , so were more expensive , and took longer to do.

At the moment , for a recondition , you're looking 3-4 days

Cheers Ian

Ah sorry I mixed you up with someone else , at that price 1 thread would have been repaired as well.
We had a set in recently that needed about 12 threads repairing , they were the expensive ones
Cheers Ian

Yea thats correct mate, x1 bleed nipple was snapped, all but 1 of these callipers have been time certed already, cant imagine there are any out there now that aint?

Which begs the question, yet again: if Brembo are so good, why aren't they inserted from new???? They are bloody dear enough:mad:

I agree, they should be , it's weird that the EVO Brembo's don't have as many issues with threads as Imprezas , they are very similar calipers , but the EVO front calipers have a standard pitch thread on the fronts of 1.75mm , the Impreza have a 1.5mm pitch , the finer thread doesn't seem as strong when getting bolts out.
Both Evo and Impreza rears have a standard M10 1.5mm pitch , but we see more Impreza calipers that need rear threads doing .

Hi Ian, What do you charge for ap 6 pots?

Rob Day 17 July 2018 11:53 AM

They look good.

I have a question, and sorry for hijacking the thread for a moment:

A lot of people go down the AP, Ksport, D2, Cosworth... etc route when upgrading brakes, but is it possible to get the equivalent stopping power from a decent Brembo set up?

I had a set of 6 pot K sport on a blob a few years ago, and I have to say 10/10 on appearance, but the pads I chose were sh!te 5/10. Would have put it back to Brembo or tried a different pad if I had kept the car.

Robert.

I ran my old K sport 330 kit with Blue Stuff pads which didn’t seem too bad, but the kits are expensive for what they are.
Having sold that and recently bought a JDM Bug STI decided to try a better disc and pad combo with the original calipers so went for DBA T3’s and PF Z compound pads together with Motul race fluid and Goodrich lines.
Have to say I’m very happy with them so far although haven’t pressed on and really given them some abuse yet, but first indications certainly seems a good setup.
