Little help with Turbo advice??

Hi all,

I’m in the middle of a DIY restore of my MY00 Turbo 2000 and am looking for a little advice about a change of turbo.

Current mods are / will be:

Decat SS Up-pipe
Decat SS 3” to 2.5” Downpipe
2.5” SS Cat-back with Afterburner Vortex backbox
440cc injectors
Front mount intercooler
Induction Kit
255 or 340 fuel pump

I will also install an oil catch can and I will probably put on a 3 port boost solenoid. I have / will also be doing a full replacement and upgrade to the brakes and suspension and will obvioulsy get a remap done when complete.

My aim is to hopefully hit 300bhp but without putting too much stress on any one part. That said, the standard TD04 turbo is not up to the 300 bhp mark as far as I am aware so I will need to upgrade to something. However, having already spent a fortune I am on a budget so I’ll be looking to buy used. From my initial reading im looking at either a TD05 16G or a VF 28 type turbo.

Am I missing other turbo options that will give me the 300bhp I'm looking for and wont break the bank?

Cheers.

look no further than the td05 really for 300bhp for little money. mine made 320 on my old classic wagon with similar mods to yours.

And go for the Harvey Trick up-pipe, now available from A S Performance

My mate has a TD05 on his with similar mods he's making just over 300bhp. Although there's one lad on here who got his 2000 Impreza upto 300, believe he had original turbo. This was a few years back.
