Help with a song...

My misses heard a song in the bar and before she could shazam it, it was over..... anyway...she asked me if i knew it and I am lost.

Here information is this.....

60's song (possible late 60s)
female singer
lyrics based song
the last 3 bars end with the lyrics "here I am" or it could be "and here I am" These are sang three times and each time it gets more powerful.

Any ideas?

What genre ?

mrtheedge2u2 06 June 2018 02:13 PM

Hmmmm tough one.....she said not uplifting. Ballad type....like a Joni Mitchell crossed with Bonnie Tyler lol

Maybe a 1965 track by Dionne Warwick called Here I Am.

Certainly not uplifting but doesn't end quite like you describe though.

Only one I can think , here I am , performed by the mortal coil , it’s called song to the siren
& it’s sang by Elizabeth Fraser from the Cocteau twins

Thanks for the effort guys but none are it. I think it is more like a Gladys Knight sound.

Dionne Warwick?....."here I am" from the 1965 film "What's new pussycat". may-be!

Can you "hum" it for us? :D

I think might be some confusion with the years

Ask the bar where they get there music. If they say radio call the radio.
if they say a mixed tape ask what a tape is 😜

mrtheedge2u2 09 June 2018 06:51 PM

Could be some confusion....my misses said it was all similar years....after this song it was Sympathy for the Devil by The Stones....so that is 1968

Female singer... :D
