Now that was what you want as a game of football, utterly brilliant game

alcazar 16 June 2018 09:10 AM

Apart from Ronaldo's continued cheating, you mean?

alcazar 16 June 2018 02:16 PM

Lawrenson wasn't behind the Aussies much, was he? LOL

I am no fan of Ronaldo, far from it but even I was sitting there thinking he may well be better than Messi after a performance like that on the World stage.

It was an amazing game and if you can't see that you don't belong here as you clearly don't appreciate superb football.

Funkii Munkii 16 June 2018 07:00 PM

Messi proved your point yet again in the Iceland match

The guy can play for Barca and that's it, I doubt he'd be half as good if he ever left them.

Flame suit on ;)

An0n0m0us 16 June 2018 09:49 PM

:lol1: I think Messi is the best dribbler and when playing for Barca looks the best in the World but that is club football and not on the World stage which is why I had to pretty much concede last night and as you say today that Ronaldo is certainly showing him up. Messi had chances today that he should have put away and didn't. Argentina on paper should have absolutely trounced Iceland with the team they have but it was anything but that.

Two points needing raised:

1. So because I disagree with you, I "don't belong on here"?

2. Ronaldo does two dives and the pundits say nowt. You accept it too.
Perhaps YOU don't belong on here.

Anyway, you get your wish as I have no desire to engage in a slagging match with you. Enjoy your solitary posts.

An0n0m0us 17 June 2018 12:38 PM

:lol1: it was widely regarded as an amazing game yet all you can do it slag it off because you don't like Ronaldo.

I don't belong on my own thread which is about appreciating the World cup and amazing football? :cuckoo:

urban 17 June 2018 12:56 PM

Anyway, enough of you two.
Come on Tunisia :lol1::lol1::lol1:

dpb 17 June 2018 12:59 PM

Pity Cameroon not in it , Nigeria were rubbish !

dpb 17 June 2018 05:51 PM

Well done Mexico :D

joz8968 17 June 2018 05:58 PM

Amazing!

Meh'hi'co FTW. Literally.

First time Ger haven't won their opening game since 1982!

joz8968 17 June 2018 06:02 PM

- Who's up for Bra-Sui l8rz?

- I'm not feeling the WC fever, though. Something lacking.

lozgti1 17 June 2018 08:59 PM

Well, boys in yellow and green bit more like Norwich than magical Brazil:D. Well done Switzerland though:thumb:

Think everyone is all a bit nervous in the opening games though

Let's hope, therefore, that
The Eng-er-land are the team to set the tournament alight, tomoz. :D

Yeah, and hamsters might fly.

lozgti1 17 June 2018 09:10 PM

Hah!

Must admit, really looking forward to seeing it.

As a top footballing fan....only know two names in the England squad:D

C'mon boys. Whoever you are.lol

joz8968 17 June 2018 09:28 PM

Ha, yeh.

Hopefully, therefore, they can play without fear - due to not carrying historical baggage/scarring from failure/'expectation'.

Yeah, and hamsters might fly #2

LOL

Should get Delia in then :)

An0n0m0us 18 June 2018 09:05 AM

Expecting another sluggish lacklustre display from the England team tonight. Look at how Mexico played then watch how we play.

Mexico played brilliant attacking football against the reigning World champions, only their quality in the final 3rd let them down as they should have scored 3 or 4 goals.

We have the attacking players to play like that with Dele Alli and Sterling on the wings but it's the usual English Management style that prevents that from ever happening.

Brazil I think underestimated Switzerland and just assumed it would be a walk in the park against them and had a nasty shock. They need to wake up for their remaining games.

It made my day though seeing the Germans beat and trudging off looking miserable :D

dpb 18 June 2018 10:20 AM

My god we really dont do ourselves any favours

https://uk.sports.yahoo.com/news/kan...l?guccounter=1

just like we were the favourites in SA , right

BRZ Need to get into the mind of Neymar and remind him there are 10 other players in the team, far too greedy, we can probably blame Ronaldo for that as well ;)

Chicarito's tears after they beat Germany this is what the WC is all about :luxhello:

BTW I'm expecting ENG to come flying out of the blocks and put in a performance you'll be happy about :D 2-0

Tidgy 18 June 2018 01:25 PM

are england out yet?

Lol i'd love to be proved wrong Funkii and see them have a great performance but I just can't see it. I can't remember the last time I saw an England team play with flair - probably 1990 when Gazza and Waddle were in the team :lol1:
