Alcatek mappers
Are there any people who can still map Alcatek ECUs?
Bought a V3 STI that has an Alcatek fitted by Andy Forrest but he doesn't map Classics any more. Don't mind traveling to someone who can map them as it will be alot cheaper than buying a new ECU. |
Don't quote me on this but I think if he's mapped it before he will do it again.
|
Email Andyf just to make sure sure it was mentioned it was ecutek cars as ecutek has stopped supporting classics dont know if does your ecu but stated he doesn’t do link ecu |
I've already got in touch with Andy. The response I got was ""Hi Alastair
I don't map any of the classics anymore I'm afraid. Sorry I can't be of more help. regards Andy." |
Martyn Jeffrey engine tuner?

try Bob Rawle, he gets around a lot so might be worth an ask.

Tried andyf’s website but seems to be down |
your best bet is getting the mapper who mapped it last as trying to get hold of andy from alacatek im hearing is not gonna happen !!!

The only person that can map your ecu is the original mapper which in your case will be Andy F....Unless you get your Alcatek ecu code opened up,and the only person that can do that would be Mr Alcatek himself....he is suppose to be in hiding according to my mate that is in the same boat as you, thats why you keep on seeing Alcatek ecu's regularly coming up for sale these days:Whatever_It seems people are just selling the problem on to other unexpected members. My mate has decided to get a new ecu fitted now as quite frankly he's had enough.SJ.

Well considering the Original Mapper now refuses to map Alkatek ECU`s fitted to classics id say this ECU is defunct and for the bin ( if changes are required)
Crazy scenario !! |
got my ecu's back from Andy today so they are still doing them there just a bit behind lol
bob rawle still maps them |

How did you get in touch with Andy? Did you phone or email him or did you just send it off with a note?

I also read in a recent post:- 'AndyF no longer maps classics because of lack of support from EcuTek' which did seem strange as Paul Blamire went there when he handed over the reigns at Zen.

As I said before, try Russ Paton at RA. Andy used to do mapping days at RA and I’m sure Russ has a good relationship with him. Andy could possible send Russ the original map.
It’s worth asking the question |

My mate was going to Get another mapper to map his car but was told that the original mapper is the only person who could map it, which sounds a bit fishy too me :wonder:and was also told that he needed a unlocking code but when he contacted RaceDynamics he was told no such code existed....Who do you believe?.SJ.

Thanks for the help everyone. After a few phone calls yesterday and today, RA Motorsport are buying all Andy Forrests old Alcatec software, cables and previous maps so they will soon be able to map them.
|
Crikey, thats a cornered market then !
|
So Andy isn’t doing link ecu, alcatek ecu or ecutek in classic or any classic what does that leave him syvecs only and open source ? how many folk that have been mapped by him with classics still have them or with after market ecu |
Asked Andy what ecus you still tune smswer new age ecutek only |
