Subaru sti blobeye 2004 350 bhp
Name Taser
Hi everyone my first post I have a sti blobeye 2004 came with a ppp certificate which Took the car to 305 bhp, I then put a 3"sport cat down pipe 3"straight middle pipe and a 3" back box ,then remapped it and got 348 bhp Want to hit the 400-450 bhp any suggestions without going to mad on price Like new turbo if needed or induction kit Thanks guys |

It starts getting expensive if you want to go further than the power you have.
|
If your serious about chasing power but not too attached to your car,
Would be cheaper to sell up and buy one at the power you want, To take to 450bhp from pretty much stock will be a fair amount of cash Be cheaper to get a fuel pump, pressure reg & a decent 20gTD05 cross fingers and pray for 400 before u max injectors. |

Would an sc42 and some 740cc injectors see over 400,might even squeeze 450?
What else would be needed? Not massively expensive. |

Many people run 400+ on stock engine.
Brakes, don't you have brembo? Get some decent pads. Not sure how much power the stock clutch is rated to? Mamba do some cheap turbos and Martyn j rates them highly so you could save a few quid there. |

ok got brembo so a turbo will do to get to 400+ bhp so no need for headers and performance tmic |
Stock tmic and airbox should be good for 420
All depends how much you push the car, most go fmic above 400 due to heat soak. Performance exhaust manifold will aid spool but a stock set up shouldn't be a limiting factor. Best advice would be speak to your mapper. |
Have a word with Martyn J at engine tuner regarding mamba,he'll also advise better on what you need to hit your target :thumb:
Remember tho it's not always about the headline figure but more about drivability. |

Your modifying your car to push a fair bit from standard,in fact you already are at 350 so you always run the risk of problems, your car is also 14 years old
If you don't want to take any risk then keep it standard. Oh and choose a decent tuner to give you a better chance of not blowing your engine up. People and comments above are correct....Big Money to run safe and big power,,forged engine 5k+ for peace of mind. |
I'm running an sc42 twin scroll at 1.65bar boost on an old UK spec bottom end(my95 I think),do I expect it to last, hell no!
The short block I'm running rolled out of the factory with 215bhp and I've got to be pushing 400,I'm still shocked that it's lasted 12k miles and still sounds sweet as :) |

I'm going to stick my neck out here and say:
A standard Newage STI can be taken to 400> bhp for sub £2.5K based on second hand cars and the current engine etc being sound. I know, because I have done it several times!! Turbo £750 Inlet £50 Exhaust £200 Injectors or FPR £200 CAI (not essential) £150 TMIC will do 400bhp, or FMIC £500 Fuel Pump £100 Remap £400 where am I at.... £2350 ? of which some is not required... Only thing missing is Garage time unless you are doing it all yourself? |

If your base car for mods is as you have mentioned a Newage STI then 400+bhp is easily obtainable but...you will have to throw a couple of choice modifications on it.I answered you on your other thread...Rob Day is about right price wise if you buy used parts,on the other hand if you buy Gucci modifications you can add another couple of grand to the price that Rob Day mentioned, you don't need to forge for 400bhp as the STI engine is quite robust as i was running 450bhp for 5 years before the engine got replaced in to my wife's Subaru classic and its still running fine,Syvecs would be a nice engine management upgrade but it can be acheived on Ecutek software now with the right mapper but with less functions. You have to set yourself a realistic budget that you can comfortably afford and work from there, sometimes asking one question can get you a thousand and one answers..and not all of them correct!...if you get my drift;).SJ.
