Correct turbo choice for 2.0

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum and this is my first post, I own a 2.0 forged closed deck wrx sti, I am currently maxed on the vf35 and looking for an upgrade that will get me up towards 480. However due to the 2.0 there is obviously less torque and I'd want to keep it as quick spooling as possible, what turbos are people running/would people recommend? Thanks.

EJ20 + 480bhp = noticable lag. There's no other way around it.

Your best bet is to go rotated, as it helps with spool up. A roller-bearing, billet, GT30-based turbo would fit the bill, I reckon. Probably the GT3071R. You'd have to look into the possible exhaust port and compressor/housing sizes, to see what the smallest ones you can get away with, to achieve c.480bhp.

For a straight bolt on for circa 480, I'd go with a precision turbo, but of course as said above you will get a bit of lag unless your in the correct gear.
Or lower your target and opt for a sc42, proper good turbo for circa 420-450

Sc42+meth mix,not worth worrying over the few bhp you'd be short of for your target figure.
better spool and responsive drive are worth so much more than 20bhp.

How would an sc46 and go twin scroll for less lag go?

This is prob the 'easiest' route to take.

Thing is you won't get the benefit of AVCS heads in concert with the TS set up (unless he happens to have AVCS heads already fitted).

That said, all else being equal, a TS SC46 conversion will surely be less laggy than its SS counterpart (every little helps and all that jazz)...
