so I nipped to the shops in the impreza after washing her and as I pulled out of the junction I heard a load of clonking as if something dropped from my car, went around the wheel arch and ended up on the road so I turned around and found this........ is it part of my impreza? I bloody hope not lol https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...27db7fb141.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...2d02b3280a.jpg |

It's not a part of the alloy front wishbone is it?
|
- To be fair, it does look like it could be part of the block casing to me!
- Could it not be part of one of the engine mounts, also? But usually, if you have a failure like that, the noise it makes would be awful. I had an engine mount fail in my old Clio 16V and it sounded like a massive bottom end failure! Did the car make any noise after you carried on driving? |

That looks like something that'd be attached to something rather large and heavy, like a subframe, mounting, gearbox casing, engine block or hub carrier etc.
You'd know if it was off your car although I have seen cars with massive holes in gearbox casings still be driveable. Probably just debris from a previous accident. |
