Advice on getting involved in motorsport/track events etc

Good Evening!

I'd really like to do something a little more interesting with my weekends, I like the idea of volunteering/getting involved in motorsport or car related events/trackdays, I'm not sure how or in what way, I'm no mechanic, I tinker about with my car but my knowledge is very limited, would definitely be willing to learn more, but would be quite happy to do anything really, even make cups of tea lol!
I've briefly looked at the marshalling, but I'm not sure it's for me, unless that's perhaps the best way?
Wondered if anyone had any suggestions or advice?

Thanks :)

First, join your local motor club, or one that does the sort of events you like. If you want to get involved but not compete, then marshalling is definitely the best way to go (and earns you lots of brownie points with the club and competitors). If you want to compete, work out what type of event you want to do (trials, autosolo, navigation/scatter rallies, stage rallies, sprints, hillclimbs, racing etc) and speak to some of the people in the club who do those sort of events. Then work out if you can do it in your car (read the regulations/entry requirements) and put your name down!

Thanks both, I've sent a couple of emails off to local clubs so will see what happens.
