Very good cams these I know a lot of people who have preferred these to aftermarket cams on race and fast road builds

bustaMOVEs 30 March 2018 08:58 PM

They are arch indeed, I didn't really need uprated cams as these were good enough but I'm over speccing my build a little this time so it's all ready for whatever I choose to throw at it later if I get in the mood.

Busta will these fit on standard sti avcs heads? and do I need to port my heads or its straight fit?

thanks

I'm not right good with head knowledge, but I'd of thought so tbh, but you could do with double checking with someone that can confirm

They should be a straight fit into 2.0Lt heads but may need to be reshimmed for clearances. Porting isn't necessary but there is obviously a performance advantage from doing so.

Thanks for that arch.:thumb:
Yeah my new cams will need to be reshimmed but apart from that straight drop in.

Hi Busta,

what will these give me over standard JDM cams which I have now on a 2003 JDM? I know I will need a remap but curious if this is a cheaper way to more BHP with a long term view to a 2.1 build. If it’s advantageous then I will take them off you. Will PM after your reply. Only ask publically incase someone else searches this topic down the line 👍🏼.

Not sure if you 'may' have same cams in there? Does yours redline to 8250rpm?
Easiest way to tell is send me a pic of numbers on casing of your heads if you can to determine what you have in there if it's advantageous or not.
