Would this tempt you folks??

I’ve just been on the phone to them, seem a genuine company?? Again, I don’t know them so hard to judge. I don’t like the side skirt kit and rear bumper but the guy just went around the car and thinks they can easily be removed, steering wheel and gauges aren’t me but they’re minor.

Your thoughts folks?

Tidgy 20 March 2018 05:12 PM

I'd say about going rate at the min for a stock car with that sort of mileage on a fresh import.

o keep the gauges, about £1000 for defi's now :o

Steering wheel and skirts as you say are meh, seats look in suspiciously good nick for 120k km. By im paranoid

Pete 20 March 2018 05:34 PM

Hello mate, longtime no speak, how’s things your way?? Yes having been out of Subaru ownership for over 4 years or more I’ve lost touch etc, hence I need pointing in the right direction. Lol

Jay kay 20 March 2018 06:12 PM

I've heard of a few people using this company and had reasonably good results. The steering wheel and skirts are hideous but the gauges are decent, they just need to be put in a better pod. Think I'd cry at spending that much money on a car of that age but that's just me.

Anger 20 March 2018 06:25 PM

Why do the Japanese do these things to RA’s, my old one had hideous skirts on it when it first came in

Pete 20 March 2018 06:35 PM

Yes it’s horrendous isn’t it?? Totally spoils the look of the car and of course makes it b.l.o.o.d.y heavier. Lol

AbbasSTI 20 March 2018 06:55 PM

It's missing the Rays wheels the Ltd model should have. But looks like a lovely car. I'd ask for the auction report before anything else.

rickybobby 20 March 2018 07:27 PM

12 grand :O

Rab555 20 March 2018 08:36 PM

Bought mine from them in October, Ozz was very helpful and knowledgable and dealt with any small queries/issues I had afterwards without any hassle. Would recommend them. Cars been fantastic and was exactly as described, they allowed me to ask as many questions as I wanted and answered honestly, they also allowed me to test drive the car prior to leaving a deposit.

This 100%

Might well be graded as a 4 but side skirts and the wrong steering wheel scream accident to me. I've seen grade 4 cars that have had body panels replaced on the auction sheet.

Its not a type r, its a more door

Moley 21 March 2018 01:15 PM

They have a very good reputation, so should have any issues.

Don't read too much into the grading, view the car with an open mind and judge for yourself.

Pete1968 21 March 2018 01:53 PM

Agree with that Moley, they're 20 year old cars now tbf

If the Jap history checks out, I'd seriously recommend one of these.
I've got number 0892/2000 & it's a fantastic car.
Much better than a Type R:thumb:

Pete 21 March 2018 03:22 PM

Yes I owned one years ago before I bought my 22B, amazing car, very focused. I’ve asked for the auction sheet to be emailed to me ;)

I have viewed cars graded RA. The car had panel damage on the doors and bonnet, they had not been repaired BUT new ones fitted!

Moley 21 March 2018 06:23 PM

Grade R/RA doesn't mean much IMO, too many people think it's like a Cat D

It just means at some point the car has had paint, even something as simple as a bumper been repaired/replaced.

I've seen grade R cars in much better condition than grade 4

Made me look twice Tidgy, started to doubt my aging eyes til I looked again!

rossyboy 21 March 2018 06:58 PM

Agreed. I imported an EP3 Civic a couple of years ago - grade RA and all it had was a new front wing. Rest of the bodywork was stunning.

Too many people get hung up on very minor damage that has been sorted.

These cars are getting very old now and just look at some of the wrecks that get restored on the likes of Car SOS. Some are almost entirely new bodies!! Still worth a fortune.

Pete 21 March 2018 07:34 PM

Ok folks, i have the auction sheet for it, friend tells me nothing too horror story, just minor dents??

Moley 21 March 2018 11:00 PM

Certainly looks the part, assuming it’s as good in the metal it should be a good car (with the exception of the steering wheel!)

Possibly slightly strong money, but you’re paying for the quality and it’ll only appreciate in time.

FWIW I’d go for it after a good check over

Pete 22 March 2018 06:20 AM

Moley,

The more I see the steering wheel it’s kinda growing on me, lol. Side kit and rear bumper kit is definitely coming off though if I purchase it, I’m 50 yrs old and that is a bit too much. Ha ha. Out of interest, how much are new steering wheels?? I bet a b.l.o.o.d.y lot??

Pete 22 March 2018 06:55 AM

Folks, as I’ve been out of the game for ages, the engine has done 74k, are classics good for this and beyond?? I.e will I still have plenty of motoring left in it??? Sorry for a daft question but I’m only doing my homework. Lol
