New Scooby owner, looking for advice
Hi guys, I’m new to the forum and the world of Subarus so take it easy on me. I’ve recently purchased a 2010 Type UK sti hatchback and I love it. The car has had a bit of work done by the previous owner including: EJ257 long engine forged rebuild, Block converted to closed deck and 14mm headstuds, Mahle 2618 forged pistons, ACL race series main and big end bearing, Williams H beam rods, ARP 2000 bolts, RCM MLS headgaskets, 14mm headstud conversion, Subaru 11mm oil pump, Injen CAI, Forge dump valve. I have a couple questions, I have searched online but can not find any definitive answers. I have been led to believe this engine should be capable of handling 500hp, does thissound about right? Also I have a dyno printout of 340hp, this is however before the engine rebuild was carried out so unsure wether it would be running that power with it’s current modifications. What do you guys think? It’s possible the previous owner hadmore modifications on it before the rebuild. Final question, I’d like to make around 400hp with this car (as long as it’s safe to do so) what sort of modifications am I looking at to get this sort of power. Thanks in advance guys, I will appreciate any advice you guys can give. Marc |
What turbo, fuel pump and size of injectors is the car running?
|
I’m presuming everything else on the car is standard as I have no paperwork or have not been told otherwise. |
Slap a big dirty turbo on there with supporting mods off you go
|
What’s the maximum power I could get out of it with a standard turbo? Sorry for the newbie questions guys, I’m very much new to turbo cars and just trying to gain a bit of knowledge!

That’s not a bad starting point. I’m guessing that’s with breathing mods, and injectors? Thankyou buddy, glad to be here, boost is addictive! I’ll add some pics when I work out how to. |
