hatch sti reverse camera just giving black screen

hi so it was working really well then this wk end it seemed to show a black screen when shifting into reverse ??? I checked camera was clean the parking sensors are doing there thing. does anyone happen to know what it might be? its picking up the reverse switching as the screen changes . also there seems to be some slight grainy lines flickering . im thinking either connection has come out of head unit or plug in boot door. :wonder: thanks :D

It probably means the camera has either died, become disconnected or lost power.
What make is it? and what HU is it attached to?

Look for vomit obscuring the camera...someone seeing the rear of a hatch maybe threw up on it?
LOL :D

the head unit is the original kenwood type with blue screen built in satnav and cd dvd player . as for the camera im not to sure on that. the head unit itself seems fine. yes the lens appears vomit free .

As the Hu is original, I would imagine the camera is OEM to go with it (P/N H0010SC150)

Despite being a US writeup, it covers the same H/U and camera instalations.

Hopefully will give you some ideas on where to look for power feeds etc.

ok the webpage provided was very handy I was able to check the status of connection on camera no red letters showing , so clearly all connections are ok , it is perhaps then the camera its self . I also reactivated the position lines on the screen ..... just as a test as not used it this way before I think these were deactivated . I prob will turn them back off from what I have looked at on net most people find them a pain. thanks again to don clark . :thumb:
