Good news and bad news

My mate just sent me link to this.

Mots are getting tougher. But getting smelly diesels off the road.

I'm sure I read somewhere that an oil leak can now be classed either as an advisory or fail depending on severity and location. Which is motivation to get my rocker covers sorted.
So Jaygsi, are you based in cambridge?

My Passat Highline TDi is my daily hack. 1.9 AWX - bulletproof.
54 plate with a mere 121k miles, they are good for 300k....at least.

I'll be gutted if it gets forced off the road at some point.
Diesels these days are doing so many MPG, this is what it's all about. Nothing else....nothing.

Electric and hybrid is out of reach to the masses at the moment, til then, watch more petrol cars drink more fuel....more at the pumps, more in the government pocket.

Simple, pubs are empty, high streets are empty. People don't have the spare cash like they used to. Next, driveways will be empty....you have been warned.

No why? Got my rocker gasket set to hand. Will be done shortly along with gear linkage.

Just the link to the cambridge newspaper. I've just found out my JDM leggy has a different rocker cover design, so the gasket set for both sides is only £20 from ICP!

An oil leak has always been an advisory only, its only if the oil leak is severe enough that the oil reaches the brakes that itll fail, even then you cant fail the leak per se, you have to fail it on the brakes being contaminated by oil:thumb:

smelly diesels are what feed you and take you by train and bus mate , having a Range Rover that I fill once a month is far better for the environment than filling up 4 times a month in my Scooby :cuckoo:

Don't use trains. Not used a bus for 9 years. Only use petrol. Never owned a diesel, hate them. And they stink.

LPG is the way forward for the diesel boys. Half price of petrol so workout same of less than diesel.

Best thing about Subaru's is the under tray. Hides any oil leaks 😉
