ppp/prodrive ecu identification
Can anyone confirm if this a ppp ecu
|
An *AH990 is the standard ECU from a MY03 WRX STi as has been written on it.
Only way to tell if it's been remapped for PPP by Subaru/Prodrive is by interrogating it with ecutek |
Ring Prodrive. They have a record of every registration number of every vehicle that has their ECU map installed. The info is free and easy to obtain!

Ok thanks for reply reason I ask is the car has ppp cat backbox silicon hose under intercooler also iv heard from afew people that on new age prodrive wrote ip and a number in marker pen on ecu and on classics they put a sticker I did ring subaru but didn't want to know lol do u have contact number for prodrive maybe they will help
|
Has google stopped working?
|
No it's still there lol I phoned them but they said all there old records was give back to subaru when they stopped working with them
|
Let me just google Subaru phone number.
:D |
When I phone subaru dealer they just say they can't tell I'd have to contact subaru uk by filling forms or something out and I can't find contact number for subaru uk

TOMMY, my 2005 STI has "STi 05 xxxxx" written in black marker on standard ecu just like yours. It's has the PPP definitely - (All parts, Certificate, the little silver sticker saying upgraded performance please tell insurers, and was rolling roaded at 288hp/296lbft at Indigo GT a few years back). I was under the impression most of not all newages are like this.
Cheers, Sam. |
SHUNT 88 that is perfect thanks for replying does yours actually say ip and a number same as mine also what boost isit running at to get that bhp and we're is the little sticker on the car?

You say yours has a silicone pipe under the inter cooler - be aware that all STi came with a red silicone pipe as standard anyway. It was the WRX PPP that swapped the standard black plastic pipe to a Blue Prodrive Silicone one :thumb: Sam |
Little sticker is normally put on drivers B pillar. Mine is still unused in the wallet!!! too rare to use :lol1:
|
Mine has a blue intercooler pipe with something performance written on it
|
my intercooler pipe is blue, aswell,,,,and has Prodrive on it, and is a PPP car

STi did not get a replacement pipe as part of PPP as the standard red silicone/metal Y pipe is strong enough on the intercooler. The OP should have a red pipe, not sure why his would be blue to be honest? |
Well it's just been confirmed by subaru U.K. That it is indeed a ppp car now I just gotta find out what boost people are running as mine was missing the restrictor pill
https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...80e9cfd440.png |
0.9mm restrictor pill
Target boost is 1.35bar @4000rpm tailing off to 1bar @7000> |
Thanks for reply that's great mine was boost just under 1.1bar with no restrictor pill I put a 1mm in and boost went well over 1.7 so removed think I must have split pipe then put 1 in around 2mm or there abouts maybe 1.8mm and goes to just under 1.2bar iv got a feeling 0.9 would cause over boost so might have to try 1.2 next and see what happens but at least I know it's looking at peak around 1.3bar now really appreciate it
