Blobeye door open light on dash
 

Hi
Just need a little advice.all 4 doors shut and boot lid shut as well.but dash light still on.
The boot lid interior light.ive had to disconnect cos wont go off.
How do i try and find out which sensor is causing the dash light on.
Any suggestions would be helpful.

if the boot light wont go off it will be the switch in the boot, the switch is stuck open and thinks the boot is open thats why your dash light is on all the time :thumb:

Agreed. Find and either clean, or replace the switch.

This is what i thought,but only thing thats confused me.is the interior light wont go off either.
So if the the boot switch catch isint working would this make the interior light not to go off to.
I thought the interior light was separate to the boot light.
Like,if you open ur door interior light comes on.close door go's off.but ii isnt.
What am asking if boot swtch has gone,would this cause the interior lights to stay on as well.

There both on.
Interior light is on and boot light is also on.
This is why am asking if the boot switch has gone would this cause the interior light to stay on as well.
Its doing my head in ,cos strange why a boot sensor and door sensor to go at same time.

No, neither the boot switch, nor the bonnet switch if fited, would cause the interior light to also come on. Each is wired to it's own light.

I'd be removing each DOOR switch in turn, thoroughly clean and check the wires for chafing. You may find an earth where there didn't ought to be one. Bear in mind that they system works because the light is constantly live. The switches are switched EARTHS allowing current back to the battery via the bodywork. So the wiring to each switch is also live.

I spoke to an auto electrician and he said check switches or could be the central locking modular.

Just remove each switch in turn, pull the wiring through and look for:

Chafed wiring.
Connectors shorting.
A switch ewhose rubber boot is damaged and could have let grit in to jam it.

I once had my brake lights "stick on". It was a tiny bit of grit in the switch. Removed switch, dismantled it, replaced without grit, all good.
