Seriously lucky - I'd not go that far.

Redbulls toys are already out the pram . . .

Rusti 26 March 2018 12:24 PM

Typical Marko, same old whinging but not got the stones to do what they have threatened several times in the past.

Merc and ferrari aside the mid field racing was excellent I thought.

Yes, he was.

But I have to say, even as a lifelong fan of F1, that race was seriously dull.

The new F1 technical regime (yes you, Ross Braun) must do something about tidying up the rear aero so that overtaking isn't totally eliminated by turbulence from the back of cars.

Not even the reliably entertaining Vestappen could get close to the back of the car in front and still get his car to steer. Same thing with Hamilton.

Needs fixing.

Matt. 26 March 2018 05:29 PM

always look forward to Melbourne, love the build up and love the race but that was pretty dull... something needs to happen.

Funkii Munkii 26 March 2018 06:33 PM

Everyone looks forward to Melbourne in the hope that "This Season" will be different, but alas 5 laps in we all know it is no different to any of the last 15+ seasons.

Oh well on to next March when that hope returns once more...

Rather sweeping statement, would you like to elaborate a little, as I cant see a 15 times WDC on the grid, so who has been winning for the last 15 years on the trot ?

Funkii Munkii 26 March 2018 07:12 PM

I think you know exactly what I'm saying, it's hardly a sweeping statement

So in a nutshhell, for you, it is as boring as fook and will be yet another procession with the same drivers involved in the top spots race after race. F1 has lacked excitement and competitiveness for years and years, the only highlight was Brawn winning the WDC/WCC

urban 27 March 2018 12:22 PM

Well summed up that man.
Every year they make the cars faster, with increased grip, better aero etc, but with all the fancy aero stuff, the car behind is fcuked trying to slipsteam, which generally results in a borefest

ironic that Ferrari have had a slight loss in performance since the oil burning, and quali oils have been stopped,
Which they thought Merc were exploiting better than themselves, but it has no real change on Merc`s performance, almost like it was a bluff, circulated to confuse and send other teams off in the wrong direction lol

joz8968 08 April 2018 06:32 PM

Gutted that Bottas couldn't get past. That would've meant Ham would only be 10pts, rather than 17 behind. :D

Fair play to Vettel for managing those tyres though... But once again it looked like he probably would have come in, if it weren't for the Ferrari pit lane accident. He no doubt ended up 'serendipitously' lucking in......again!

Anyone see the leg break in slo-mo? Rank as.

ossett2k2 08 April 2018 06:53 PM

Shame there wasn't another couple of laps,Pirelli seem to be rubbish at predicting how long they're tyres will last!
The kimi pitstop looked bad in real time, not seen it in slow mo yet.

urban 09 April 2018 11:11 AM

The pitstop is not good, but not Kimi's fault, green means go as the end of the day.

Hamilton seems to be become a moan this season, seemed to be constantly whining on the radio in yesterdays race

ossett2k2 15 April 2018 07:07 AM

Ferrari faster again, hard track to overtake, looking forward to the race tho and my £1 Is on Hamilton......come on Lewis!!!

JDM_Stig 15 April 2018 07:12 AM

How many will Max take out on the first lap . .

joz8968 15 April 2018 07:40 AM

Okay, so there're still 18 races left after this one.

But, as it stands, the season is looking ominous for Lewis. And I'm not liking it one bit  lol

You can sense Toto's concerns/downbeatness everytime he's interviewed.

joz8968 15 April 2018 07:51 AM

lol at Ferrari cocking up the first round of pitstops. Well, Vettel's. Awesome 'undercutting' lap by the Finn, to get in front of the German.

C'mon Bottas, back Vettel up into Lewis's clutches LOL

joz8968 15 April 2018 08:56 AM

LOL I just 'knew' Max and Seb would come together. It was inevitable.

...Lewis's get-out-of-jail-free card, this race? Currently making up 4 pts on Vettel, as it stands. Hopefully, it'll be 6 when Max's 10s penalty is applied. :smug:

joz8968 15 April 2018 09:10 AM

It could well be 8pts... Alonso just got past Vettel! Yes!

joz8968 15 April 2018 09:14 AM

So, after all that, the net result is that Vettel will be just 9pts ahead going into the 4th race...

Tidgy 16 April 2018 03:52 PM

yep, o how karma bites :lol1:

joz8968 16 April 2018 05:01 PM

Still, Merc needs to get its act together.

Otherwise it'll be a veritable cakewalk for Ferrari (or even RB!)

yeah, no doubt merc have only themselves to blame for not being ahead in both championships

I wont loose any sleep over him leaving, never been a fan since he tried to blackmail Ron.

urban 30 April 2018 12:34 PM

When will the team give Verstappen a slap?

He's been in F1 now for 4 years, and achieved very little, impressive failure rate though.
