I have spent hours searching the net but the only places i can find them are japan and america. I am prepared to get a set shipped for abroad but i have no idea about import tax ect. Does anyone know anywhere in the uk that stocks theses ? Are they avalable from subaru uk? |
I ordered some bits from America the other week and with the fedex admin fee and the import charge, was about 25% off the value of the items.

Scoobyworld used to do them but currently saying on pre-order - maybe worth a phone call
http://scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog/pro...h6bhblf3bjagj1 Ordering from abroad is reasonably simple When you know the cost of your item plus shipping add 20% VAT plus the shippers admin charge (Parcelforce who deal with EMS (Express Mail Service) in the UK now charge £11.25) If the item is more than £135 (only the item) it (not shipping) will attract Import Duty - for "autoparts" it's about 3% One I did earlier - value of goods plus shipping was JP¥9,424 (about £61.70) Exchange rate is usually taken on the day of entry into the UK http://clarkdh.net23.net/NTL/Import%20charge.jpg Parcelforce require payment up front before release,TNT and Fedex (depending upon value) will deliver first and then send you the bill. |
Thanks don. Looks like i will just get a set from japan.scooby worlds have been on pre order for about 6 months thats why i didn't bother trying to get them off them.

Try contacting Luke at import car parts, he deals with Japan parts and suppliers regularly so will get you a landed price and I'd guess it's pretty good compared

I like the look of the nuts but they look incredibly simple to remove. Like many people, in my rusty old tool box I have one of those one size fits all sockets that would take those off in seconds. There are far better designed nuts available that will actually offer some protection. Admittedly they wont look quite so nice so it depends what you want I guess.

Where did you get your plain black ones from don ? These were bought 5/6 years ago and both sets still going strong, no rust or damage to the spline edges ( always use a torque wrench - no torque guns) The plain black ones came from Jegs - link includes installation kits which have both spline drives and lock nuts ( http://www.jegs.com/p/McGard/McGard-...-1?Ns=P_Margin ) in the States The lock nuts came from scoobyparts ( http://www.scoobyparts.com/locking-w...eel-nuts-black ) |
Any idea where i can get an sti set with lock nuts like in the picture
