decent sound bar advice
i wanna treat myself during the boxing day sales and im looking for a sound bar for use with my panasonic vierra tv. ideally with a wireless subwoofer and under £200
any recommendations? |
Got this for my viera, but on cheap deal with warranty,
Had to have main board replaced and the remote is distinctly iffy. Other than that it's great haha Wired though http://www.trustedreviews.com/review...onic-sc-htb485 |
I was going to do similar, but once I started looking at reviews, soon gave up.
There seems to be a large amount of expensive cr@p out there at the moment:( |
From experience I'd always go for a bar that's the same make as your telly and where both telly and sound bar can talk seamlessly to each other. Saves a lot of faffing and reduces the remote count by one.

From experience, you can't beat a proper hifi sound linked upto telly. I'm a bit of a hifi geek though.
But the sound is amazing and the unlimited power you can push through without it sounding all distorted. |
JBL SB400 if you can find one, think they've refreshed their model line up now but it's the best one I've had and I've had a few as Busta says though you can't beat a proper amp and speaker set up, just the spaghetti junction of wires that do my head in.

Tricky get hold of by the looks.
this may be another possibilty https://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-S.../dp/B06XDQ3G4G It's the updated model of the 5140 I've got in my spare room, the 5140 got 5 stars with what hi-if back when they reviewed it and it's a very good sound bar for the money, not read any reviews for the 5160 though.:thumb: |

Agree:thumb:,I have done the soundbars years ago now and highly rate the Yamaha models they seem to really know how to make a quality one with a separate sub.For a bedroom a soundbar is fine but for a living room I had to upgrade to separates controlled by a Onkyo amp 5.1 set up and now a 7.1 atmos surround sound which is just pure quality.SJ.
I have a Yamaha av receiver (30kg) mated up with mission fronts (soon to replace), cerwin vega surrounds, B&O Center and a BK electronics p12-300 subwoofer (manufacturers of REL and MJ acoustics), awesome subs for flagship sound for reasonable money. I do like the onkyo and pioneer receivers though as well for sound quality. My receiver is quite old but I won't replace it until it breaks I like it that much. |
