Evening chap, curious to know if I would notice much difference with these over my current Brembos with CL5 pads/grooved discs? Car is a 410+bhp blobeye.

I've seen this kit mentioned a few times, and understand the principle of the 2 piece discs but cant get my head round how a disc/caliper combination with the same diameter and number of pots can be superior? I'm all for spending the £, just dont want to make a bad decision

With them pads in it, it will be poorer than your current set up.

they are a good bit of kit but not a big jump up from your Brembo’s.
Used them before and if I’m honest I wouldn’t have been able to tell them apart.
im running the new version of ksport 8 pots on 356 discs, and even with standard pads (winter) they are a humongous upgrade, great feel and progression.

I’ve ran brembos and rate them well for road use. I’m now on AP’s and would not go back to brembos if I had the chance to go AP. Its a night and day change for me.

Glws

Hello mate, the ap's are a upgrade from the STI Brembos as the ap's are lighter and the brembos are a much bulkier calliper and retain a lot of heat if used Hard....But saying that I highly rate the brembos and at your power level with the pads that you stated that you are using...that setup will be more then adequate,if you are felling lush though I would still go for the ap's;).SJ.

Totally agree, I use std brembos with rc5+ pads and they’re awesome, only issue is heat control when on track with using the std discs.

Amazed these are still for sale.

I went from ksport 8pot to ap 6 pot and the AP’s are far superior brakes.

Has anyone ever upgraded from AP 330 to the AP 356 kit?

Does the 356's extra 16% disc surface area and 8% more leverage make much difference over the 330s, in day-to-day hooning?

Does the 356 kit still use 4 pots or 6?

I believe you can get different caliper pattern types for the 330 kit......and also presumably for the 356, too?

So possibly there are both 4- AND 6-pot options for both sizes, no? But yeah, there defo is a 4-pot option for the 356 kit, at least.

For example, my own 330 kit uses the CP5570 (6-pot) caliper - suited to my GC8's application.

Depends what caliper you use. For example the CP5570 used in the 330mm kit has a larger pad area than I see used in the common CP7040 356 and 365mm kit. The larger disc area size on the CP7040 caliper does give better heat dissipation on serious track use. That said it's not relevant as adge's kit is the 4 pot kit which would make a superb fast Road caliper.

I have a home-brewed CP5200 conversion similar to the OPs. Only it’s using 315mm discs as I believe that it was originally designed for use with a Classic and smaller wheels. I’ve never found the brakes wanting on the road. That’s with either DS2500 or PFC-Z pads. Track maybe different but you’d have to be driving like an idiot on the road to seriously reduce the braking performance. I have the option to go to bigger discs (328/330mm) in the future, which I will probably do as 315mm is only an AP size and limits my disc choice. I’d need to get custom bells made as well. So I’d imagine that 356mm discs would be a noticeable difference but 330mm would surely suffice on the road.

Wonder why these ain't sold.

Without starting a war is it price or because they are 4pot?

imo maybe a tad over priced given the state of the pads/disks (disks have a lip by the looks of it and the pads are looking a bit thin) but as long as they are fully function then they aren't massivley over priced.

the 330m 4 pot kit is very capable, had the 330mm on my type R and they are considerable more confidence building than the brembos on my hawk, although the hawk is a heavier car of course.

At the end fo the day its what someone is prepared to pay

He states "ONO" in his ad so I doubt its the price as he is being flexible.SJ.
